Mine is so excited! He has bought his cards and asked for me to make someting for their party. I think its so sweet. He is in a very small school and he personalizes everything. There are only 14 in his class. He and his friend are going to take their ""girlfriends"" out to eat and to the movies Saturday night. Of course DH and I will be chaperoning but we won't sit with them at the movies.

Its so sweet and so so innocent at this age. Hes so shy around his little girlfriend when she is acting sweet but then when she starts picking hes right there with her. They would rather be chasing each other playing. It interesting watching this change from child to teen.

I think I'm more excited than he is. (He being my 7 yo DS.) We got Spongebob-themed Valentines with lollipops attached to them to give to all the kids in his class.

This morning we watched a Valentine-themed Rugrats episode, and he got all embarassed over it. I wonder if he has a crush on someone? He's a little young, but I guess it can happen.

Oh yes Beth, my DS who is 8, is very excited about Valentine's Day!! He's more excited because he gets to give Valentine's cards to his buddies ~ not "girls" because they are still "yucky!" He wrote one out for every kid in his class.

It's a big day here in our house for DD age 8...they pass valentines in class, decorate boxes to put them in...we give our girls some candy in the morning in heart shaped boxes...and I always decorate my DD lunchbox. Last year paper cut out hearts all taped to the inside of the lunchbox with a little note ...this year a small box of candy to add to the decorations...she is also going out to a "fancy restaurant with daddy on the 13th they started this last year, getting all dressed up with a wrist corsage and all" (he takes me out on the 14th!!) she says she feels special...and isn't that what it is all about!!!

This year I think I got more excited about Valentines Day than my kids...no surprise there, my kids are 15 and 18. But it's the first year DD is away in school.

I've spent the last few weeks making homemade treats: a coffee mix, chocolate spoons with valentine sprinkles, cookies, brownies. I got some fancy candy and some Hersheys miniatures and conversation hearts. I made up care packages for all of my daughter's girlfriends and sent them off the other day. They're starting to get them and they are thrilled. I like being the "cool mom", I don't get that title too often ;)

My daughter should get her box today. It has a few more special things for her and a perfect card about daughters leaving home and it has several pictures of a bleeding heart flower in various stages of opening. The bleeding hearts in our backyard are her all-time favorite flower, so I was thrilled to find the card.

You sound like a cool mom to me Karen! :)

No kids for me yet, but I'm very excited for Valentine's Day!!

I'm making some cookies and brownies for my DH tonight and I'll have them delivered to his work on Friday.

I made homemade cards with red and pink glitter hearts and mailed them out to our godchildren, parents and grandparents, that was so much fun.

DD (4) is very excited. Tomorrow is her class party. Over the weekend she spent a long time picking which valentine out of the box we bought she wanted to give each classmate/teacher and then wrote their names and hers on each one. Last night we made chocolate lollypops for the kids and teachers. We'll also be working on a card and cookies for DH. On Saturday DH and I are going to surprise her with a trip to Build-A-Bear.

Yes, she does! Fri is her classes annual class party!

In general, she loves all holidays!

I am excited for Valentine's this year because I have an amazing boyfriend to celebrate it with!!!
It is right in the middle of sorority recruitment which bites the big one but it should be fun :)

chocolate spoons with valentine sprinkles

Someone at church had these and they are the CUTEST things!! Rose enjoy it while it lasts because he will like someone pretty darn soon and you will be ready to SCREAM!!

JJ he probably does have a crush....its so cute at first and then they want to buy everything in sight.

J.C. asked me the other day....mom if we move in a few years and Allie and I are still going out what happens. I had to explain to him that as he grew older he may change his mind and go out with someone else or he may meet someone in Florida. Hes such a sweet kid.
