something that makes you just sit back and realize what special people they really are?

I have a very rare eye disease and sometimes I get a little down. I just had my third eye surgery this year about a week and a half ago and found out this past week that I will need to have another one probably in August.

We will be going to WDW this summer to celebrate DD's high school graduation and while I am extremely excited, I am a little sad that I can't see 3D any more in the theatres for some of my favorite shows. I was discussing it with my DS (24) and he said... "Mom, I will go in with you and I won't wear my glasses. That way I will see exactly what you see." Then when I was discussing my new surgery and how I would be getting a new lining for my cornea from a donor, he said.. "You can have anything of mine that you need that will make your eye better."

Just yesterday and today... my DD (18) says just out of nowhere..."Mom, your eye really looks great. The doctor did a really good job." She knows that I am a little self conscious about it.

I know it might seem so simple to some, but I have tears in my eyes just thinking about it.

Just wanted to share.

awww...they sound both sound so sweet. You must be very proud of them!

They sound like great kids: compassionate, sensitive and caring.:grouphug:

I know what you mean, though. I have an autoimmune and kidney failure. I was in the hospital for 10 days when I first got sick. I am still on dialysis, but life is almost normal again. My DS12 wrote a paper about how I was his hero. I have it hanging in my room. I cry every time I think about it.

Thank you all. They are pretty good kids. I just need them to remind me how lucky and blessed I truly am.

I don't know your kids, but I want to hug them! Good job Mom, you raised wonderful children. :goodvibes

OP - Sometimes I am stunned at how wonderful people can be. It's been a rather upsetting day and I am ready to believe the worst of many, but hearing about your wonderful teenager/young adults gives me hope for our future.

Good job Mom :thumbsup2 .

agnes!

You've raised some pretty awesome kids! :goodvibes

I love hearing stories like this! :thumbsup2 You've raised some wonderful children, you should be proud.

The nicest thing mine says to me is she thinks I'm the youngest (insert age) around...and that I don't look my age. I'll take that! ;)

Awww totally heartwarming . No doubt they got their blessings from their sweet Mom. Positive stories like this are wonderful and when parents realize they must have done something right :thumbsup2!! Best wishes on a successful recovery and have magical time celebrating DD's graduation in WDW!! :wizard:

Just want to send good wishes to you also and wish you a successful recovery. That was so nice your sweet thoughtful DS expressing himself that way.

This school year our sweet little 10yo DGD was required to do an assignment on 'My Hero'. While visiting for Grandparent's Day she guided me to her school hall wall, only for me to read, that her Nana was her hero. I was truly surprised, stunned and overwhelmed . God Bless all our sweet babies. :lovestruc

Sounds like you have a pretty amazing DS. Good luck I hope things continue to get better.
