Do your friends know about the dis?

Do you tell your friends & people in RL about the dis?

I dont tell anyone, for some reason i'm embarrassed by it.
Not when i'm on but like what people would think about it, like "computer friends" or whatever.

Only one of my friends know because I came on at her house one time in the summer at a sleepover because it was at that time when the dis was SO FUN to be on at night. and i could NOT not go on xD

my friends don't know about it. i'm not sure why...i guess cause all my friends are on aim and don't even really know about message boards and stuff and they might think i'm weird for being on one

No, and I prefer to keep it that way. I feel kinda "embarrassed", but not really. It's just like some people would look at me in a different light, but oh well. Everyone has that one thing they like to do in private. For some it's smoking, others it's knitting, but for me it's the dis.

The one BFF that knows doesn't really care.

I tell them about my "forum". I've sent a couple of links to subjects that I thought they mind find interesting, just from the community board. But they don't know how much time I REALLY spend on it. They would think I have less of a life than they already think I do.

My family knows, but not many of my friends know. Those who do know because i've been on while they're around my house.

My friends know that I am active on several online communities. (Gaia, DIS, etc.) They also know that I have several good friends online.

My parents know, but my friends don't. I'd like to keep it that way. I have Facebook, AIM & my phone to talk to them. I don't need them invading my world here on the DIS.

I told my one friend about this site a couple years ago because she was going to Disney. But she never joined or anything.

No one else knows. Like others said, I feel a little embarrassed saying I have online friends.

My mom goes on here too, but she doesn't know how active I am on here. And she only goes on occasionally and only on one or two boards, never the TB.

Well, not really. More afraid. I'm afraid because they might be like, 'Gosh, you're a freak. And you're friends are freaks too if they spend their life on a stupid site.'

I told my BFF about it a while ago, but this was when VMK was still open, so she probably forgot lol.
It's awkward when I'm talking to my online friends on AIM and one of my friends is over. They're like, who is that? I say ohh one of my friends at church.
I have one friend who talks to online friends on aim like I do, so I can tell her when she's over.

I have yet to tell my RL friends and I really am not sure if I am going to or not. Most of the people I know in RL could care less about Disney and such things so they may see it as weird, which I am.

A few have heard me mention "the dis" but they don't actually know what it is. It's kind of embarassing when I mention a name, and they go "whos that?" "My friend from online" "What?! Creeper.. -snickers-"

In my opinion, it's there loss.

I always hear funny stories or interesting things on here & im like "i know somebody who.." and they are like "hahah who?" & im like "uuh.. " xD

& It is SO hard to explain the IM's & txts from disers.

& You have NO clue how hard it is to explain the pictures of me, kayla & collin!

& I try not to lie so im like "Oh people i met in disney" *true* haha!

Well they hear me mention "The DIS" every now and then and I dont really name names and I'll just say "it's a message board I go on" and they dont really ask questions....so yeah

My family doesn't know, but they really never ask what I'm doing on here.
My BF knows. He doesn't really care. He is a member of alot of different boards so he doesn't find it strange or anything.
My other friends don't know. I don't even think they would even care.
