when you call in sick? Mine do. I know it is an issue for myself because I have to learn to ignore those things, but instead I let them bother me. I work in a middle school and my job is split between two offices--the front office and the data center. The only job that has to be covered when I am out is doing the daily student attendance. A co-worker from the Guidance Office (whom I am friends with) does this with no problem. The two woman in the front office, however, complain to no end when I am out, but of course not to my face. I do NOT miss a lot of days, but yesterday I knew I was coming down with something. Sneezing, runny nose, very pale, etc.--many people commented I didn't look good. When I was leaving, one of the woman said Oh--if you call in sick tomorrow, could you call me and let me know so I can come in a little early?" After I got home and thought about it, I felt she really put me on the spot by asking me to do that. If she had cleared it with the principal, I wouldn't have a problem, but she didn't. I called the principal to tell her I would be out for a few days (am home with a terrible head cold right now) and I mentioned what Sue said. She told me not to call her as she wanted her to work her original hours.
So, instead of relaxing here at home trying to get better, I'm worried about having to deal with this nut case when I go back to work.
Sorry this is so long............how do you guys deal with these kinds of co-workers?
