My cat is flipping out chasing a moth. Sad thing is, this will probably go on for hours, as the moth has figured out staying on the ceiling is in his best interests. ;)

bootsie loves catching bugs,, shadow will chase them, but most of the time he just plays with those, especially butterflys,, he will chase them and when he get sclose he'll sit still till they land on him:)

Awwww... I can just see him sitting there with a butterfly on his nose. :)

My cats eat them, but sometimes they must not like the way they taste, because they'll kill them and leave them laying around. Yuck! :earseek:

Oh, yeah ... one of our favorite forms of feline entertainment!!!

My doggie used to chase and eat wolf spiders. As he got older (and wiser? :teeth: ) he stopped.

Wolf spiders freak me out. I hate all spiders, but those wolf spiders are the worst! :earseek:

its so funny watching shadow sit there after hes stalked this butterfly and have the big monarch sitting on his head,, he'll sometimes sit for 2 or three min with the little wings fluttering over his ears:)

My cat Claire meows at those fake ladybugs. From time to time she will chase them and try to pounce on them. She is so cattish! :cat:

If that should happen again, you MUST get a pic and post it. :goodvibes

i'vetryed,, short of taking camera every time i go outside with him..lol..

lol. Oh yes. Mine goes nuts chasing bugs around the house. And not just running after them. She tries to climb the walls, leaps off tables, just about anything she can. All the while, she's meowing at them at the top of her kitty lungs. Its really funny. I don't know what she thinks she's doing but its hilarious.

Someday you'll get it - I'll wait for as long as the DIS exists - no hurry. ;)

My kitten who is just turning one, thinks chasing bugs is the most fun activity he can think of, second only to chasing the beam of a flashlight! The kids think he is menatlly incompetent. :rotfl2: Debby

Yes he does, he chases crickets and will hop beside them. Now I can't stand crickets and I'm all for getting them out of the house ASAP but Simba thinks they are his buddies. He almost climbed the wall once for a moth. Cat's are cute what can I say.

Mine loves/adores/in awe of a laser light. He thinks he can catch it and get confused when it goes away.

Kitty will only care about bugs if she in a certain mood. Most of the time, she is in her Royal Highness mood and cannot be bothered with such trivial persuits. But, when she thinks no one is looking (and therefore is not ruining her rep as THE QUEEN), she will chase big moths and dragonflies out in the yard.

Minnie, on the other hand, thinks that bugs are placed here on Earth for her personal entertainment. There was a dirt dauber in the house yesterday and she chased it around until she was panting with her little kitty tongue hanging out (alas, she never caught it!). She also likes when moths hit against the windows...WHEEEEEEE!!!!!

Thanks for the giggle. I love the furballs.

I've had a lot of cats over the years but my current little boy Chessie is the best fly catcher I have ever seen. He's usually able to get them in mid-flight and promptly eats them. The one girl Smokey tries but she is (how can I say this kindly) "balance challenged" and is usually unsucessful. The other girl Tugger is not interested in anything that isn't on her way from her food dish to where she happens to be sleeping. :cat:

In his younger days, Simba would jump in the air after flies. Now he just sits and watches them, unless they come to him. :teeth:
