Do your ADR plans go up in smoke once you get to WDW?

On past trips it seems that several of our ADR's (especially dinners) went unused because fun got in the way! Does that happen to anyone else?

I was speaking to a CM today who told me that I'd been to the World 12 times (I'd lost count--I guess Disney has a "file" on me!). In all those times, we've never made it to LeCellier and I've had a PS/ADR there at least 4 times!

This time we're on the DP and I've got some AWESOME meals planned...I hope silly 'ol fun doesn't get in the way this time!!!

Does this happen to anyone else or am I just cool like that? :cool1:

It does tend to happen to us. But I try not to make too many ADR's. I just don't always like the fact that I have to be somewhere at a specified time while I am on vacation. But it is always a good idea to have some planned.

This never happened to us.
We plan those sit down meals as relaxation, and time to re-fuel for more fun.

We always stick with our ADRs. We make plans for the places we REALLY want to go, so we go. But then, that's the majority of our planning. We've been enough times now, that we don't plan many specifics - just which park and where to eat each day. A couple times, we've been hungry earlier and have showed up and managed to get in early, but never missed or cancelled a meal yet.

We always keep our ADRs - eating at our favorite restaurants is something we really look forward to!

Oo Oo  !!! I want to see my Disney file!!! :rotfl:

They told me I have been there 21 times. I wonder how much that cost us over the years?

Wow! I want to see my Disney file, too! Is it by name or phone number? (Since I've gone on more trips when I was younger . . . . )

Anyway, last trip I only cancelled one ADR (Fulton's for lunch)

I usually keep my ADR's I like being on a regular schedule.

I schedule my ADR's for times when I know I will be ready for a break- either first-thing-in-the-morning breakfast, which helps me avoid *just a few more minutes* of sleep thing, and an evening dinner which I'm always ready for when it comes around! For me, a great themed meal is part of the fun- like another attraction!

We normally keep all our ADRs. Over Christmas, we did cancel one of them since we were sooo FULL.

I stay away from scheduling breakfast as much as possible. I schedule lunches to get the kids out of the park...we all need a break. Dinners for getting going again after said break. I don not schedule lunch and dinner on the same day. SO it forces us to get the tired kids outta there and helps us get going again in the evening. Last trip I had much more trouble making adrs and just took what I could get. So I tried walking up at le cellier at an off time and got in so I cancelled my adr for it. And due to meeting up with my mom and her paying and being sick I forgot about my 50'sPTC ressie. I was really glad for the rest of the adrs.

At least one gets missed each trip. We always had ADR's for at least two meals a day, and a lot of three meals a day. The last two trips we went to CRT for princess breakfast, but missed one dinner and one lunch there. Missed eating at Wispering Canyon last trip because of hurricane Charlie.

we always make them for everyday and usually end up missing a few because of too much fun!! there are certain ones though i will not miss!

we have never cancelled an ADR. i rarely make them at MK though, since I know that we won't want to worry about having to be somewhere at a specific time there, and the CS does me just fine. we plan to eat lunch at Epcot at either Coral Reef or Marrakesh this time - we have a ADR for CR, but not for Marrakesh, since i have eaten lunch there about 4 times and it has ALWAYS been half-empty, walk right in. if we decide to go there instead of Coral Reef (it will depend on how much money we feel like spending, and how close we are to either restaurant come noon), i'll cancel the CR reservation - i don't want to get a bad name among WDW as a no-show! :scared:

The only ADR we ever missed was during our last trip. We had an ADR for dinner at Biergarten on the last night of our vacation. DH and DD both came down with bad colds, and they just didn't feel up to schlepping all the way to Epcot and then all the way to the back corner of WS to eat. We ended up eating at the Pop food court instead :crazy2: - I was not impressed.

NOTHING gets in the way of my ADRs! :rotfl: In fact, I am usually so worried about being late that we arrive at our ADRs 20-30 minutes early. I would be lost trying to wing it.

Same here!! The only thing we plan are our ADRs and we get super excited knowing that we're having dinner at Insert Restaurant Here that we'd never miss it!

I would say we are 75%/25% 75% being we make it to said ADR....sometimes though, when you are planning your days 90 days in advance - now 180 - it's hard to know how everyone in your party will be feeling or wanting to eat!

No, we haven't had a problem with this yet really. There are times that I would have liked to have just stayed in bed, or just didn't feel like it, but we have made them all so far!

LOL!

We have missed a few, especially the first few times we went and I over-ADRed (yes, I've made that into a verb). Now I plan much more casually, and I'm not a slave to the ADRs. But if it's a restaurant I really want to try, I pout big time!

Yes, I always miss ADR's because we are doing something else.. then it is hard to find a place to eat! :confused3
