I've seen a few threads where someone says they stay at a certain resort because they have a fitness center. For me, I can't fathom working out in addition to everything else I do at WDW...all the walking, I think, is a workout in itself. I can see maybe going to do some upper-body stuff, but to get on a treadmill? :confused3 Seems silly to me. Thoughts??

Usually, I count all the miles walked as a workout! But since I've been running, I can totally see doing a morning run here and there on my next trip. When you're used to running/working out daily, it's quite a hit to the system to take a week off (even if you're walking more than normal).

If I tried to work out after walking five to six miles at the parks you would be picking me up off the floor. Just sweep me aside and step over me. I'm done. :teeth:

I brought my road bike with me on my last trip. I did ride some, but not enough because of traffic. I enjoy riding, so it's not a chore that I want to get overwith. I also didn't want a 9 day lay-off from riding to get me out of the habit.

I will say that the walking in the parks is a work out. My wife, for example, lost 5 pounds after 7 days in the parks. Though I can't confirm it, I've heard that you will walk 9-10 miles in an average day at WDW. That's substantial in terms of calorie burn.

Have fun.

I know some people who workout anywhere they go, they of course are more beautiful than I ever even aspire to be.

I'm too busy chomping on cinnamon buns and drinking non-diet coke to be bothered to wake up early to hit the gym then the parks.

I'm a runner even with the walking usally up 5:30 for a five to six miles run. I figure i can eat more junk food that way and not feel guilty when i get home. :lmao: :lmao:

Yeah...by walking many miles through the parks and swimming in the pools. Hardly what I would consider a 'work' out...but it is enough exercise for a vacation!

If it is a long trip, I will ocassionally do some upper body work. But with all the walking, even if I do no additional working out, and eat whatever I want, I still lose weight every trip!

hahaha.. work out? r u kidding me? i dont' even work out here! besides.. when at the park, we walk plenty of miles.. and that to me is a good work out. and swimming is a work out too. so i guess you can say we work out. =)

With all the walking in Disney, I probably burn more calories with that than I do in a typical day's workout here at home!!

I work out so I can eat more!!! I eat WAY more in the World than I do at home, so I do my regular elliptical and weight workout in the AM and then hope the walking burns off the chicken fingers, Mickey Ice Cream Sandwiches and dinner at the Brown Derby! I can kind of hope to break even that way.

No workout here!

The walking I do in a 15 day trip is enough for me. :)

Well, that may not be exactly true...there is that bit of arm lifting in the lounge after a long day in the parks. :goodvibes

NO WAY to working out while on vacation, I diet and work out all year vaca is time to let loose for me, although when we went DBF worked out 1st thing in the morning which was fine, it gave me plenty of time to get my breakfast at the bakery on the boardwalk!

I work out at Casey's Corner - working on my table muscle.
I also find time to do some 12 oz. curls at Pleasure Island. :drinking1

Ditto for me...I will usually run 3 to 5 miles each WDW morning before the day's festivities start!

With all the walking one does at the parks, and of course the exercise you get carrying all your purchases, I don't feel there is a need to work out. And of course, finding the time to work out in between everything is almost impossible! :)

I work out all the time--at home.
A vacation at WDW for me is a layoff from training (which is of benefit, I'm told) and a chance to relax. When I get back I'm actually refreshed, and resume my workouts with a bit more enthusiasm than usual.
