I always work out while at Disney...it's a habit that I find hard to break!! At home, I go to the gym 5 days/week, from 5am to 7am, and while on vacation, my internal alarm still goes off at 4:30am. Instead of waking everyone up, I get up, go for a 45 minute run, and hit the gym, albeit it's nowhere near as good as the one I go to at home. The workout leaves me energized for the rest of the day. Workingout has just become a natural part of my life, like eating and sleeping, I guess.

In the past I have only stretched (walked to the food court got breakfast and/or drink then stretch after my legs warmed up). But this year my boyfriend says he's going to make me do situps every day.

I am not as committed as this (one day, I hope), but I definitely feel that working out is just part of my lifestyle, too, and I would miss it on vacation. I may not workout as much as I do at home, but a quick run or some other activity makes me feel tons better on vacation.

i am usually waiting in line at 6 am at the fitness centers. i need my aerobic work out first thing in the morning. then a wieght work out during the midafternoon break. i especially like that one because i usually have the fitness center to myself.

Another ditto here...I'm also at the gym at home at 5:AM Monday through Friday. It's a lifestyle indeed.... I've been doing it five days a week for the last 20 years and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon!

And it does give you more energy to help you get through the long days at home and at WDW!

I usually run a couple of times during our trip, but beyond that? Nothing exact power-walking from one end of the park to the other. We are "commando" tourists and walking around the parks from sun-up to moon-up is exhausting. At home, I work out 5 days a week and find I do not lose any of my fitness level during an 8-day Disney vacation. But, I also do not "over-induldge" food-wise so the obligitory calorie-burning cardio stint is theoretically unnecessary (or so I tell myself!). :)

I do workout some while at WDW although not as much as I do at home. If the place I am staying at has the fitness center, I always try to use it for better health. If it doesn't, then I will do push ups, sit ups and may even use a chair to do curls and tricep extensions.

HI  All the walking or (power walking ) is GREAT for all :goodvibes

take care :thumbsup2 :cool1:

mary ;)

No, all the walking we do in the parks is plenty for us. :sunny:

Wow! 20 years! Now that's commitment!

My wife and I figure we probably walk 4-5 miles each day at the park (easily), although it is not at a very brisk pace. I may try to swim a few laps, too and during the course of the trip I probably do a few hundred 12 oz curls, if you know what I mean.

Yes. I generally run 2 or 3 laps of Crescent Lake (Epcot resorts), and do just a few weights. Not every day, just every 2-3 days. The walking doesn't bother me as long as I don't get blisters. Actually the running helps in that it slows me down a little for the rest of the day. I tend to walk faster than other family members so it's good for me to start with a "handicap".
