Do you wash your hands before using the restroom?

Ok, yes we all should be washing them afterwards, but a co-worker of mine mentioned washing them before. I had never heard of that before, but I can certainly see why you should.

Do you? Have you heard of this before?

Every time I go, no. But have I ever washed before, yes.

Without getting into TMI, usually just "once a month", only when I"m at work and I've had my hands on everything, and only when things need changing. Did I get my point across?:rotfl: Where I work, it's pretty filthy and there are lots of people and everyone touching things. I'm sure my hands get fairly dirty so, yes, during that time, I do wash up a bit first.

It just depend on what I've been doing before I go. If I'm at work or have been cleaning at home then yes I do. If I've just been sitting watching a movie than no.

I heard it helps prevent UTI's, so if you're prone to them it might help.

No, no need to IMO. I'm washing my hands after going anyway.

I do at work, because I'm a nurse, and come into contact with all types of icky things during the day  Usually I have just washed my hands for the millionth time anyway when nature calls.

I don't wash beforehand at home or elsewhere, though.

I do. I teach young children, and by the time I get a chance to use the bathroom (and that's a whole 'nother story!), my hands need washing.... BEFORE I use the toilet.

No. I don't see any need to to be honest. I don't "touch" anything with my bare hands when I go to the bathroom. If I had been outside gardening or had a lot of filth on my hands of course I would. But in every day life, no.

This. I'm not touching anything that's going to get contaminated when I'm using the bathroom, so unless I've been touching something like raw chicken or my hands are visibly dirty, I see no need to wash my hands BEFORE I use the bathroom. I do wash them afterwards.

I work in a hospital as a nurse, so I definitely do while I am there. At home I usually don't.

Not unless my hands are visibly dirty. I don't do a lot that gets my hands dirty, so it doesn't even occur to me, to be honest. Seems like a waste of time/water/soap.

I am a nurse, I thoroughly wash my hands before and after.
