Do you want a monorail to MGM? Please read!

Question to Chip and Dale or anyone else in the know:

Someone mentioned in an earlier response that Disney could make seperate roads or lanes just for the busses. IMO, this could not only speed up thier travel time, but also make the on site quest feel "magical." One complaint my family and I always have about the buses, is that (except for the drop off spots) we are treated just like those who drive in from out side the park. Part of the bus complaint may be the lack of people feeling like they are being treated special for staying on site. In other words, find a way to make the bus ride a perk in stead of a burden.

Unfortunetly with the way property is laid out, a BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) lane wouldn't really work. We do have Disney Transport only lanes at the toll plazas, though.
 
It was just a thought. If you can't change the buses, change the perception of riding it. Make it special.
 
Current estimates are running $80 million per mile
Seems kind of high.

The beams are heavy duty foam wrapped in concrete and the foundations and electrical work cannot be that expensive, but maybe I am wrong.

Normal road construction in which they have to move underground utilities and such is not that high.

Actually, that's a low-ball estimate. Real time figures for the new Las Vegas system (which uses the same profile as Disney) is currently running $96m per mile.

For one, I would not see a monorail to MGM ever making financial sense.
