I cannot wait to see SB - from everything I've read about it. :goodvibes :goodvibes

I read in another post about someone not having to visit a water park because they have SB. Had never thought about that. So, I'm curious - do you visit a WP if you use SB?

SAB is an awesome hotel pool, but it is not at the level of a waterpark. If you enjoy the variety of slides, you would still want to visit the waterparks.

We love BB and could not imagine not going on a trip to the World. We were at BC last May we did BB 2 full days and enjoyed SAB too. It depends on wether you want to spend the extra money on a plus package on your tickets. If you have a package that already includes the water parks go to 1 or more of the parks. If you have to spend extra for them and your on a budget. I think you could skip the water parks. There is a lo to do at SAB. My kids loved SAB. Hope that helps. Brenda

While SAB is a great pool it does not replace the water parks. It has some fun features and a unique size and theme, but it doesn't have the slides and long lazy river associated with the water parks.

It is definitely not a substitute for the water parks!! It is just a slightly larger themed pool. Plus it gets so crowded because it is shared by the BC and YC. The sand bottom is nice on your feet after a blistering day at the theme parks though!

Thanks. That's what I was thinking. There is nothing like lining up your family on that one slide at BB where you all go down on the blue mat side by side (don't ask me the name) or that wonderful family raft ride or the pre-teen area or.....I *love* that place.

DS13 & I are planning on pool hopping (DVC) to Contemp, Poly & GF while we're staying at VWL this Aug and a day at Typhoon Lagoon
The following wk when we're at BCV we're planning a day to hop over to the clown pool at the Boardwalk

I was under the impression that pool hopping was not allowed. Are you different because of DVC? I know I have read at BWI you have tro be a guest and at BC we have always had to show our room key to get wristbands to swim at the pool

sorry to be ignorant but what does the parentheses mean? New to this.....

It depends on your feelings twoard water parks. Personally, I hate them. And the water slides at the pool at the hotel are just my speed with regard to size, lines, and comfort. Unfortunately, you can never tell until you`ve done both.

If you are a DVC member you can pool hop to any pool on WDW property with the exception of SAB and the pool at AKL. You can only utilize these two pools if you're staying at that resort.

We are booked for a 5 night stay at BCV in early August and I just assumed we would have access to SAB - did I assume correctly??? Becasue if not - we just might move resorts to something cheaper

Yes, people staying at Beach Club, Yacht Club and Beach Club Villas all have access to SAB.

Another requirement for DVC members: they have to be staying on points at a DVC resort to pool hop. And it can't be during blackout times (usually around holidays).

My son and husband love SAB, but I don't care for it at all. It is nothing like a water park. Just a nicely themed pool. It will not replace a water park.
