I've never done this! So have never sen the inside of NPC or even the outside of Cheyenne and SF!

Should I this trip? When do you guys find time to do it?

We tend to go for a walk around in the evenings if the parks shut early,if we're not eating in one of the hotels we'll go for a drink in the bar and to have a nosy.

Smart! Plus cheaper cocktails if we do this at the Cheyenne!

We popped into the New York over Christmas. Found some bargains in the shops sales, and got some great pictures of the children with Goofy and Pluto. The character interaction is much more relaxed in the hotels in contrast to the parks :scared1:

The children also had their faces painted on another ocassion, in the children's area (at no cost). That was last year during the evening when we went up to use the skating rink.

We did this mainly on our last trip. We used the times during the day when Kacee would have his 2 hour nap (usually just after lunch) to check out the shops and the other hotels.

The Santa Fe probably isn't worth the walk but the theming of the Cheyenne is amazing. When we walked through in October I was pretending to be John Wayne and everything...took me right back to being a child and one of the highlights of our Disney trip having a shoot-out with Kacee (roll on March when we won't have the sensible wifey with us :lmao: )

Have been to HNY but only because we parked there so I don't think this counts!

We went for a walk in the evening during our trip and we went inside HNY because it was near, we looked inside the shop and had a nosey around.
We also went inside DLH to see the character dance at 4pm and we had a look around.

If we had more time i would have liked to have looked around the other hotels.
We did want to take my daughter in the Explorers Hotel to let her play in their kids play area, as we were staying in the Dream Castle next door, but we didnt have time and we were always sooo tierd in the evenings.

We stayed in DLP 5 days and i wished we could have had 3 more days to do more things, like looking around the hotels :rotfl:

We visit most of the hotels during our trips.

The troops enjoy the change of character meet and greets.
Sometimes the shops can have different merchandise :)

I have never ever had a peek into a hotel i was not staying in (aka Cheyenne or SL lol).
I was going to go to DLH at 4.00pm to see the characters during our last trip but believe me, i was too shy to do that :flower3: and was worried to be told off LOL

Have never popped into other hotels. Always had the intention to but after spending the entire day at the park, we usually want to just go back to the hotel for a shower & sleep at the end of the day lol. This time round, if we didn't have dinner at Inventions/CG, I doubt we'd have gone into DLH either. I think out of all the other hotels, Cheyenne would interest me the most and would love to have a nosey round there one day.

I always do this, we like wandering around and deciding which ones we want to stay in next :lmao:

In WDW we spent an entire afternoon travelling around the hotels :rotfl:

The first time we went we didnt visit any other hotels but have done every other time.

We have been to visit the characters in New York, DD had great fun dancing with Mickey in the lobby, and Sequioa Lodge. We have looked in the shops in several of the hotels and had a drink in the bars. The only one we have not really looked round is Newport Bay although we did walk round the lake and sat outside it.

Its nice to have a look round them as its all part of the disney experience

The only hotels I haven't had a look inside is the DLH & Santa Fe.

I'm so glad it's not just us that does this! We do this everytime we go - and always a little 'pub' crawl between new York, Seq and NPB!

I had planned to look at all of them during our trip last April but only got as far as the DLH. We looked around the shop there, didn't know about characters in the afternoon. It smells lovely as you walk in through the doors.

On previous trips i have used the toilets in New York, so as we are staying at both Cheyenne and Sequoia in Feb I only have Newport Bay left to see.

We've looked round all the Disney hotels now, just have the off-sites left to do!

Sometimes we're visiting for a meal, other times we may go for a drink, or just to have a look in the shop and have a general nosey round. I especially like going round the different shops, sometimes they have things that I haven't noticed in the parks.

This is something we have never done...dont know why just something we have never thought to do I suppose.....

All the time, for dinner (though they have ruined almost all the hotel restaurants with stupid buffets), shopping, characters, and drinks.

I remember before kids, we did a DLP pub crawl - started at DLH, then Sportsbar, Rock N Roll America at the time, Billy Bob's, Rainforest Cafe, HNY, NBC, SL, then the Cheyenne and finished at the Santa fe where we were staying that night. It was fun!

When pin trading started, we used to check all the hotels for the limited edition pins.
