Do you vacation the same time each year?

I have been a member since 94 and have been in August, Sept., Oct., Nov., and Dec. I must say I prefer December, but go when I feel like it.

Let's see, the year we bought we were at WDW in Nov. 00 (pre-Thanksgiving). The next year we used our points for the first time in Oct. 01 :bounce: and I realized we should have gone the week after to make the WDW golf tournament, so that's what we did in '02:bounce: This year we are going in May 03 to make use of the AP's we got in :02.

Thinking about Dec. 03 or Feb 04. Haven't decided on that trip yet!

So I guess for us, no pattern. Probably won't ever really be as we have no munchkins and can take vacation whenever we would like to.

Got to love that DVC!

May for F & G F and Oct for F & W F and next year 3 trips.:smooth: :smooth: :smooth: :smooth:

We used to flit and twit about as we pleased with our vacations, but that was before our 3 kids got old enough to get involved in the schedules from you-know-where. School messes up 9 mos of the year, then baseball season through the early summer (two ball players and one coach!) So that pretty much limits us to August!

I have to say, though -- now that our kids ARE older, and are complete water nuts, August isn't nearly as bad as I feared it might be. We get to really enjoy the water parks and DVC pool-hopping. And since we go in late August, most of the southern schools are already back in session, so crowds aren't a big issue.

But someday I vow we'll do another Xmas at Disney... we did that in '98 and it was just too much fun, and such a nice winter escape!

We are both teachers (like several of you!) so we have to wait until school is out as well. We tend to go the second week of June to WDW and then on our fall break we've gone to VB twice and this year will try HH. That will be our pattern until we retire in 10-12 years! Some year when we've got a surplus of points (like that'll ever happen) and a long Christmas break - we may even try to go before Christmas. Hope that can happen before the three kids are grown!

The first trip we went during Labor day weekend, but now that I know more about Disney, I just plan to avoid crowds and hot weather. For the past two years we've gone right before spring break--during March, but this year we ran into the school thing. At dd school there is no attendance policy, so we usually could go during any time, but it was the school work that we became worried about this year. Her work has gotten harder and its more difficult for her to catch up, even though her teacher gave us work to take along with us. It's just that she just has to be there now for the explanations from the teacher now for her work. So we have decided that we're going to go during the times when she is out of school, maybe the last week of May, 2nd week of December and during the dreaded spring break.

Yes, I have now started planning trips to occur the same time each year. When I purchased into DVC, I chose my use year to be close to the time of year I know I'd prefer.

After I started attending the big RADP meet every December, it's become mandatory for me to attend now that I've hosted a few mini-meets. :-)

I am able to go more often than before I owned DVC.

We usually stay at OKW 8-10 days- late March through the first week of April (Unless Easter is early). We also stay another 10-12 days the last week of November to the first week of December.

I would like to go for the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot, but DW loves Christmas at WDW. Last year we took an extra trip and spent 10 days the first of October. It was very quiet, no lines, excellent weather and great for swimming.

For us, anytime except June, July and August (to Hot!) is a great time to be at WDW!

We have gone each month of the year, except January, February and September. The reasons vary -- summer, anniversary, spring break, combined with business trip, seasonal event, managed use of APs and the like.

Over the next few years we will probably have picked off January and February as well.

With our girls in college, peak and hot seasons will probably get much less interest.

We like November alot. Love the weather and crowds at that time! This year we are going to try Halloween, but we will still be there for a bit of November. This past year we also went in February and have already decided we are going back next Feb. It was sooooo nice escaping the cold and snowy winter! :)

it was the four years in a row in February that convinced us to buy into DVC. LOL

Now that we own, we're trying to arrange a trip for October (short one) and our usual week in February. The trip in October is specifically so we can go to Blizzard Beach - we've never been to the World when it was open. And February is always because I can't STAND the VT winter any longer than that - and it always feels like Spring (almost) when we get back.

(I gotta figure out how to add a countdown clock)

For a number of yrs., we have been locked into the same two trips: DVC (usually OKW) in March & HH in the last wk. of Aug. Our 2 DSs go to private school & get a 2 wk. "spring break" in March, so we always go to WDW, usually during the first wk. We always go to HH during the last wk. of Aug. because this is when all the summer programs have ended, just before school resumes in the wk. following Labor Day. But oldest DS is only in HS for 2 more years & the March trip could change, it already changed alittle this yr. because we had to coordinate w/ his HS BB team, who did spring training in Melbourne FL. We might switch around the Aug. trip to allow some college preview trips.

Newer DVCer here...it's easier to tell you what months we like and don't like. It's doubtful we will ever go in Feb, March or April. Or July or August. I can't stand the crowds over peak Season and heat gets to all of us. We have been in May and love that weather. This year we are doing a quickie weekend the weekend in June for DH's b-day and Star Wars weekends. If his birthday wasn't over a weekend we would have gone in May. We have also been in September and liked that. But our favorite time is first part of December - we all are so into Xmas.

But this year we are going in mid-November for DD's b-day since we went in December for DS's b-day last year.

2004...depends on if the family wants to come. If they want to come, it's probably going to be in December. If they don't, might be in October when the kids have a week off.

Mostly I think it depends on the mood we are in.

I don't really have a set pattern of when I go to WDW, but it will probably always be between December and April. I enjoy the chance to escape Michigan winters whenever possible. :p

I struggle with heat and high humidity, so I will probably always avoid the summer months. I'd love to try WDW in the fall sometime, but my work schedule doesn't lend itself to fall travel too much. :( Maybe someday when I retire... :D

there are only 2 months that I haven't gone to WDW using DVC - January and Febuary.

I like the flexibility - I can go for short trips or long trips - I really preferred getting there on Sunday (after packing on Saturday) and leaving on the following Friday - gives me Saturday and Sunday before going back to work on Monday. This really works perfect for me. The older I get the more recovery time I need!
