We spent A LOT of time at the pool when my brother and I were kids. Now we value sleep too much :)

When we were kids getting up early to swim, staying up later to swim, or forgoing your afternoon nap to swim was ALWAYS done. Not anymore... Now we try to sleep in, take naps, and still stay up late (but not to swim). How our vacations have changed the older we get! :)

It depends on the weather and how I am physically feeling... I have real issues with people seeing me in a bathing suit ;) We do find other ways to relax other than being at the pool though.

DH & DS always use the pool (weather permitting) at least once a day.
Midday we come back to the resort & they like to relax with a swim and later in the evening, too.
I stay out--the aesthetic police may arrest me! :scared1:
I'm pretty sure Pooh-sized is an arrestable offense

uh..except for the very deserted evening at CSR, when, after a few Margaritas, I trooped out to the quiet pool in my Duggar-like swim suit! :earseek:

We usually spend one day at the pool and relaxing. Otherwise, we don't use it. Had you asked about a hot tub....if there is one, I'm in it nightly.

Never.

We belong to a very nice swim club at home that is where we practically live during the summer. It has water slides, and every family has their own table with lounge chairs and upright chairs. It has a carryout food counter and grille, lots of ground with volleyball, playground, etc. All the kids are on swim team, so I HAVE to be there everyday for practices, then the kids want to stay to play with their friends and run around the grounds and play games in the pool. When DH is done work we will often take a picnic dinner there and eat with friends or alone and then DH plays with the kids in the water until dark, and even after dark as the lights come on it the pool, and that is when it is most fun.

So when we go on vacation, I pretty much need a vacation from the pool. We want to do things we can't do at home. If it is a vacation where I am cooking dinner, DH might take the kids to the pool while I am doing cooking. But that is it.

I don't think my kids would know what to do in a pool on vacation. They would be like "well, where are all the neighborhood kids to play sharks and minnows with?:confused3 , you mean you just want us to swim? "

Almost never. We really aren't pool people. It never enters into the equation of where we are going to stay on vacation - Disney or otherwise.

we have a pool at home so we really dont see the need, we swim when we are at home, when we go to Disney or another amusement park, we are there for that!

Depends on where we are. At WDW we rarely, if ever, use the pools. Just too much other stuff to do that we can't do somewhere else. We can go swimming almost any other place we vacation. If we're at the beach, same thing. No pool, just the ocean.
Most other vacations we would use the pool, if there is one available.

Yep, we're in the pool on vacation, and ocean too if there is one. We're in the pool almost everyday at home too.

Nope. Almost never. Last two vacations we didn't at all.

Yes, we do use the pool everyday when on vacation. Go to parks in AM relax by pool a few hours in early afternoon and then back to the park at Disney.

Every day, sometimes twice. When traveling child-free, I'll spend most of a day at the quiet pool.

Sine we specifically rent homes that have pools.... of course we do! :thumbsup2

To our girls, vacation means swimming at a hotel/motel, preferably w/ an indoor water park, but at least with a water slide.

Hot tub and pool many mornings before the parks. Pool during a mid-day break on many days. Pool to cool off after the parks on most nights.

When we are at the Portofino/Universal, we usually plan one pool day at the Hard Rock. We rent a cabana and pak there the entire day there. (Love the pool hopping privileges at Universal) Since it is such a short walk (about 5 minutes) to the parks, the kids will swim and then go ride a few rides, come back and swim for awhile, ride, swim, ride, swim.

And I get to do my ultimate vacation - lounging under the ceiling fan of the cabana with a good book and the pool boy bringing me drinks.

Absolutely! Even in December we use it, although not daily like we would when it's warmer. Actually that's one of the reasons I don't want to go back in December again - too cold to go swimming everyday! Although the hot tubs are a nice substitute.

It's not a vacation if I haven't hung out by the pool with a froofy blended drink and a magazine!
