This is our 1st time going to WDW in Dec. and we are super excited! Dh and I are going with DD4 and DS6 months. I know the temps. vary during this time of the year, but was wondering if sunscreen is needed? I just want to know what to expect!

I got burned in San Fransisco when it was only 60 degrees and I NEVER burn. So we used sunscreen on exposed skin. In December we were wearing long sleeves most of the day so it was pretty much just face.

Not at WDW. There's lots of red hair and fair skin in my family, including 2 of my children and myself, and we have never used sunscreen in December at WDW -- and I grew up in Winter Park, FL.

My parents have always used sunscreen, just as a precaution, because you don't want to burn during the trip and miss out on a lot because you hurt!
although myself i don't use sunscreen, because i just tan, although when i'm in the swimming pool, i do use sunscreen. if you decide to use sunscreen, make sure you get waterproof, because you don't want to have to re-apply after each water ride you go on.

Each and everyday my children get SS whether we are at Disney or not. Sun Damage from UVA rays (aging rays) happens whether or not they will burn.

So when you are out for extended periods, do your kids a favor and get a nice stable SS and reapply every 2 or 3 hours max!

Well, we haven't been in December, but I do apply sunblock to the kids in November and in January at WDW. And I wear it too.

We needed last year for early Dec. I was coming from PA & never thought to pack it - Had to buy it in the park. I would bring it just in case.

We do. The sun's rays can harm you any time of year. If you are outside in the sun for a long time, you need sunscreen.

Absolutely! The suns ray's cause damage anytime, not just when it's a bit cooler. You can get a sunburn in the shade and even when skiing. Temperature has nothing to do with it.

The American Cancer Society says to use a 15 SPF at least, year-round. Wanna see my scars from melanoma? They aren't pretty!

Also, if you are worried about the 'chemical block' sunscreens, Neutrogena has a great physical block one that works instantly!

I'll be using it in Nov while there for my 50th birthday blowout!
Gotta keep my Tink tatoo looking good
