i am hopefully going back to DL next month for the first time since 1998 - i got a kind Diser's advice from here and also purchased Ridemax - they actually are very similar!

Should i use the Ridemax planner exactly?

Would that help me maximise my trip?

Thanks. :)

We use it everytime we go, but really only follow it closely up until about noon. By that time, we are usually well stocked with Fast Passes and plan the rest of the day around that. We try and get to the park before opening and spend 2-3 hours picking up FP, then head over the CA when they open or within 30 minutes of opening and pick up FP and ride the rides there, which usually takes about 3-4 hours, then head back to DL for the rest of the afternoon/evening. We've always been able to go on whatever we want, sometimes 2-3 times each.

I do like Stacie, and follow it precisely in the mornings, and then take it or leave it in the afternoons. You know, once I used it a few times, I realized that I can do my own ridemax itineraries. ;)

I honestly have never used Ridemax....we just go in the morning, get FP's, ride rides, head to DCA, get FP's, ride rides and then play it by ear. LOL

We started with Ridemax, found the schedule crazy, plus the DL pattern when we went was much more crowded than historically (xmas break went longer than usual last year and DL was reaching capacity nearly each day) which was throwing the timing off. We eased off of it, used it as more of a general guideline (especially for the early morning stuff), winged it and never waited more than 1/2 hour for any ride (Star Tours without a fast pass) despite the crowds. I think that if you just start your day out early, go to the rides that traditionally get crowded quickly (i.e. Nemo, Peter Pan, Dumbo), work a fastpass strategy and are flexible you will be fine.
