Do you use resort pools in winter?

December 19, 2007 we were there and the kids swam.:cool1: But I do believe it is a hit or miss kind of deal.

My kids were in the pool every day of our stay in January - there were tons of people (adults too!) in the pool that week!

Really depends on where you're from I think. I live in Tampa and you couldn't pay me to go in the pool until the water temp is around 85ish lol. My parents live in NY and came to visit us in January and went swimming in our UNHEATED pool!! Even in the our coldest months, days that don't get above 60 are pretty rare. Nights can get cool, this past winter was very mild and a few, maybe 3 or 4 nights were 30's or 40's. I'd expect 70 degree weather in December or January, but you really never know.

We visited in AKV November 2009 and BC in November 2010 and we found it too cold or rainy to swim. I believe total swimming time on both trips was about an hour each. We still hung out around the pool and watched the movies on the beach and had a drink or two. That was a lot of fun and a great memory.

IN 2009 we went to BLizzard beach for a day but it was about 68 degrees and we were freezing (it was too cold to get in lazy river) but we spent about four hours riding slides and had the place practically to ourselves. THis is another great memory.

In 2010, the last day of our trip warmed up to upper 70's and we went to Blizzard Beach again. This time it was alot warmer and more crowded but we still had a great time.

In 2005 we visited WDW in late February around presidents day. One day it was 70 degrees, one day it was 80 degress and one day it was 90 degrees - which i believe was a record but this particular year we were able to swim every night of our trip.

I always bring winter and summer cloths and have backup plans because when traveling November to February the weather can change drastically from day to day. oh and dont forget crocs for rainy days. Wet soggy tennis shoes can be very very unpleasant for children. We found several vendors selling them in the parks when we were there. Winter time is also a time when a lot of sicknesses are going around. Both years we went in November we experienced this. On the bright side, we rarily got hot during our late november stays.

We love to swim anytime of year:rotfl:. Most times the water feels great but it can be chilly going back to the room. So we hop in the hot tub. Helps til we get back and get a warm shower. :cool2:

One year we were there for Christmas for two weeks, December 15 - Dec 30th. We stayed at AKL the first week the plants were all covered with white fabric. There was so much steam coming off the pool. Very funny! We had to purchase gloves, a blanket, extra fleece jackets. $$$$$$$:scared1:

then Christmas eve we were at the water park all day it was so warm. Two extremes. Be prepared for both!:rotfl2:

We go Marathon week every year, and swim. Last year, it was very warm (80's) and we swam at CR. The year before, it was a little chilly, but my kids swam in the volcano pool.
