What do you heat your house with? What is everyone paying for heating fuel?
Back in August my oil company made me decide on how much oil I was going to use. Based on last years figure I rounded up to 1000 gallons, I had two choices pay for it all at once at $1.05 a gallon or the payment plan over 6 months at $1.13. I did the payment plan, did not want to give them all the money in one shot. What if I didn't use all the oil, would they have given me back my money. I doubt it.
Well I used up all the oil I thought I would need. I never imagined we would have one of the coldest winters this season. For the longest time it didn't seem like we were ever going to get out the freeze. Winter came so fast for us. Hardly felt like we had fall at all, straight into winter.
Well I got my oil delivery two weeks ago and the price went up to $1.43 a gallon. A bit of a shock. Then yesterday I got another delivery and the price is now at $1.72. So now I am not very happy. I get a $.06 discount if I pay within 10 days, which I do. I guess a little bit of a saving then none.
I am so mad that my oil company forced my to decide how much oil that I thought I was going to use that now I am paying more for oil than gasoline for my car.
I can only pray that spring is around the corner or I am going to be freezing inside my house to keep my oil usage down.
Are prices that high out there?
