Do you use ignore??

I just wonder if any of you use the ignore feature on the DIS?

Does it make any post by the person you ignore completely invisible?

Yes, I use it for one poster.

You can see that they have posted, but you can't see what they posted.

Yes. I have 2 posters on my ignore list who are ALWAYS "right" and who ALWAYS have to get in the last word . I've taken them off before, but always have to re-add them when I can't stand it anymore.

I use it--I have a few dozen folks on there.

It's great! I can ignore people on my own, but this way they don't even come on my radar. It's very convenient.

If you mouse over thread titles started by someone on your list, nothing will come up. In a regular thread their message will just come up blank. The only time you can see what they have posted is if they have been quoted by someone.

I have done this, too. Right now I have a few people on ignore. Yes, I suppose I can ignore them on my own and I really, really tried to just deal with it, but it's so much more convenient and yes, it's nice to not deal with such negativity or recurrent problems.

I basically don't like dealing with the same old b.s. lol

No, I've never disliked anyone enough on any board to put them on ignore.

However, there are a few posters that I scroll over most of their posts. They are the "oh poor me" people that repeatedly post negative things about their lives and the people in them. Yet they never take anyone's advice. I find them irritating. But not enough to put them on ignore.

Yes, after 8 years on this board, outlasting some real "winners" of posters, I finally put someone on ignore, jsut in the last few weeks. I can scroll over the pot stirrers, the troublemakers, the known idiots, but I couldn't continue to read some one who put words in my mouth, and then denied putting words in my mouth, even though that was what her post said. Of course, I now realize how handy the ignore feature is, so.... there might be more.
