Do You Use Extra Magic Hours?

I was in WDW last month and stayed for the Extra Magic Hours in the Magic Kingdom once during the nine days that I was in Disney World. I am sure that the only reason that my husband and I stayed after the park closed to off-site guests was because we were there as part of a group, which had come together from around the country, to meet in person for the first time after "meeting" on the Internet.

How often do you actually use your room key to stay in the theme parks after it has "closed"?

It depends on the park. I love the nighttime EMH's at MK and AK, but not so much at DHS or Epcot. At Epcot if we do happen to be there for dinner and Illuminations on an EMH night, we might ride Spaceship Earth on our way out but that's about it.

We never do the morning ones because we are from Colorado so our Mountain Timed bodies don't like to get up any earlier than we have to!

But for sure every trip, we do the nighttime EMH's at MK as much as they are offered during our stay. The TTA, Mickey's Philharmagic, POTC and several other things give us plenty to keep busy until some of the crowds thin out and then we can get even more stuff done.

love emh do use man

We used EMH morning hours this past trip at Animal Kingdom and Epcot. But we also had Give-A-Day FastPasses at the time. I'm not sure if we would have done it without those. Although we did get on Mission: SPACE and Primeval Whril without a wait.

We went to EMH morning to DHS in 2009, but that was an accident. We also did EMH evening ours at Epcot once, but that didn't really seam to make a difference.

Not sure if we are going to do it again next time we go.

I am not sure I use them... I do enjoy them, though. ;)

I don't have a purpose behind planning on doing EMH - not my planning style. But I do stay for evening EMH almost every night they are offered during our stays. Especially MK - like the prior poster said, it's a must.

That being said, I am a conscientious objector to attending morning EMH (as in, I don't believe in getting out of bed that early while on vacation, and if you don't make me get up for it, nobody will get hurt :rolleyes1 ). I know many people use these to pack in an hour of extra go-time before the parks open to the common folk... but it's not my cup of tea. Besides, I'm probably sleeping in from having been at some other park until midnight or 2am the night before :goodvibes

During our last several trips we used the early EMH rather than the late EMH mainly because we were traveling with our youngest two children whose bedtimes (then) were 8:30-9:00. Neither child was able to stay up much past that time so we couldn't take advantage of most late EMH.

However DH and I plan on doing the late EMH for our trip coming up in a few weeks and I'm sure when I travel with my teenagers in January will we take advantage of the late EMH as well.

We love using them, but only for nighttime hours. It's a special perk for those who stay on property, I just wish they would still give out wrist bands. Most of the CMs just let whoever onto the rides, instead of enforcing showing the room key (at least when we go).

never for us.

I need coffee in the morning, and cannot function at an early hour.
(obviously no kids)

I dont at night as I am usually wanting dinner, pool and rest.

:3dglasses

We Always to the am EMH. We like getting in to the parks first.

We go back to the rooms about 10:30 to 11:00 and love the feeling of walking out of the parks having gone on a lot of rides when people are walking in and looking at the ride waits. :rotfl2:

Back to the rooms for a rest and swim, then in to the parks in the evenings for shows, parades, and leftover fast passes from earlier in the day.

We usually enjoy evening EMH at MK, and I'll also enjoy EPCOT after regular park hours on solo trips.

As with previous posters, we're from the western US and our internal clocks don't adapt to eastern time until the last few days of our WDW visits.

Yes. It depends on the park and if it is AM or PM at said park. We are the kind of visitors that are there at rope drop and stay until it closes. We need a vacation when we get home so that we can sleep. :)

We use the evening hours, but never (not once) have we used the morning hours. In fact, the extra evening hours at the MK are usually the reason the motivating factor in us staying on property. We love the "feel" of the park in the evening and, in the summertime, the thin crowds during the early morning hours at the MK cannot be beat!

we use early hours b/c our son wakes up so early anyways and then go back to the resort for a nap. If he has a long nap we go to the evening ones at MK and Epcot only.

I'v never used a morning EMH, but I ALWAYS take advantage of the MK evening ones. I LOVE THEM. The park empties out, the weather feels nice, and it's amazing being in the park that late when it's so quiet.

I plan to use a morning one the next trip, though, if I can drag myself out of the bed in time! :)

We always do the evening EMH because we are not the get up early type of people lol . I love the evening EMH but the first half hour after it starts it seems a little crowded then it starts clearing out :woohoo:

Two times we have planned our trip so that our first morning there is Morning EMH at Magic Kingdom. Since it's our first morning, we are usually still excited enough to get up early. Not so much other days! We leave the park around lunch time, usually after riding everything we wanted and some twice.

We never do mornings. We almost always do evenings, and plan our park days around the evening EMH schedule.

We are not early risers when on vacation. But once we're up and going, we'll go until they make us leave. :rotfl:

we do and we love EMH:love:

We ALWAYS do evening EMH at MK. we love staying in MK until 1 or 2 AM. Occasionally we will do early EMH but that's very rare. We are not morning people and it's much more magical to us, to be there at 1 AM rather than 7 or 8 AM
