Do you use EMH at night?

We have always avoided emh's because of recommendations on websites, and we always do rope drop. Now that my kids are getting older (teenager and tween), I'm starting to reconsider. I think they might enjoy going to the parks late and sleeping in. So, do you use emh's at night? What are your opinions... Especially in comparison to rope drop?

Night EMH are the biggest perk to staying onsite for us. You absolutely can get tons done AND for most times of year it is cooler than during the day. We'd rather close the parks down during EMH and sleep in.

Have never done rope drop but try to do evening EMH as much as possible. Stinks that they are not as frequent as they once were.

Same. We do evening EMH every night they're available. I wish they hadn't been cut back

We plan on doing evening EMH at MK this coming trip but not going to Epcots or HS EMH. I'm beginning to wonder if we should. Is HS evening EMH fun or crowded?

We do evening EMH as much as possible and often plan our days around being able to be at the parks as late as they'll have us!

We'll be doing EMH this trip for the first time because we got park hopper for free (also our first time using park hopper). I can see us hopping to MK EMH after one of our AK days, hopping to HS EMH after one of our Epcot days, and hopping to Epcot EMH after one of our MK days. This should be great although the main determining factor will be how exhausted we are :rotfl2:

You need to live by our Disney motto... "We'll sleep when we're dead." :rotfl2:

Hahah, yeah, we normally hit the parks pretty hard. I have a bad ankle and on our first trip, I literally couldn't walk by the end of our trip. I remember having to hop on one foot all the way to our gate at the airport. I learned my lesson for the trips after that and got myself a great ankle wrap brace which has been a life saver. However, we've only done 1 week trips in the past and this next trip will be our first 2 week trip, so I'm afraid I will be on a gurney bed by the time we're done.

We do the MK evening EMH's without fail.

Our last night at WDW last week we watched Illuminations, then over to the MK to hit the EMH's until 2am. Exhausting, but it was our last night and we were driving and could sleep in the next day before heading to a couple of days at the beach. I love evening EMH's, mornings not so much.

We always do the MK PM EMH, we love MK at 2am. We hit RD take a break during the day and hit another park at night. We will hop to a 3rd park if they have the EMH if we don't want to head back to the hotel yet, this is one of the reasons why we purchase the PH's.

The perk at Epcot is Soarin' often with 10-15 minute waits. When Norway is done I imagine it could be a huge perk.

We use EMH (pm) as much as possible at the MK. We used to do the E-Ticket Nights but since they eliminated those, EMHs are the best we can do. However, I will say that EMH (pm) at the other three parks are not nearly as meaningful. The crowds at DHS can be pretty big and most of the people want to ride the same 3 rides, so the overall benefit and atmosphere of the park isn't as nice. And AK isn't a big deal at night. We are usually done with that park by 4:00 and that includes riding the headliners over and over and over again. Future World at Epcot can be OK, but it does suffer from much of the same problem as DHS. Everyone wants to do the same 2 or 3 things so you don't get that same cool feeling that you get in the MK at 1:00 a.m..

We loved the late night EMH at MK when we were there last year. It's a totally amazing experience touring that park late at night.

I highly recommend it.....have fun!

Night EMH at MK is the best! When we went Easter week in 2012 they had a lot of night EMH at MK that week and we'd often do one park during the day, have dinner, and then head over to MK until midnight or 1am (and one day, 3am!) It was a great time.

We try to do the evening EMHs, we can pretty much ride whatever we want to during those hours then the days are free to just wander around, park hop, resort hop or just laz around the pool. We are three adults (DS, DIL and myself) so rides aren't a huge focus of our trips anyway and there aren't but 3 or 4 in any of the parks that we feel we must do. In some cases the rides are just more fun at night, ToT and the BTRR are great at night.

It's hard for us to do evening EMH and be up for RD the next morning, and we prefer RD. So we've never done evening EMH that much, especially since they dropped it from 3 hours to 2.

We actually only do night EMHs. We always have to wake up so early for work that to us, we just don't want to wake up to get to a park for 7ish-am on vacation. I do see how they could be totally beneficial to other guests, but the night ones are great for us night owls! I also think the parks look really cool late at night too.

On our last trip at the end of May we did Epoct evening EMH and were able to ride Soarin 10 minute wait, Test Track walk on, Nemo walk on, etc. Every trip we take advantage of MK evening EMH and everything (except maybe SDMT and PPF) are a walk on.
