Do you use anything on tile floor when using a steamer?

I've recently purchased a floor steamer to clean my kitchen & bathroom tile floors. I've used it 2x already and I'm wondering if I'm NOT supposed to use a cleaner on the floor when steaming or should I just be using the water?

What I've done is while the steamer is heating up, I went and sprayed a 409/Fantastic type spray (I can't for the life of me remember which brand I actually used, but your typical spray cleaner to use on counters and such), but I sprayed the cleaner on the floor then used the steamer. Seemed fine and all, but then when I was done and everything was dry, the floor seemed "cloudy", so I went over it again with just the water and it seemed to help.

I'm wondering if I should even use a cleaner to begin with or should I just use the water in the steamer?

What do you do? Or what products do you use? Thanks!

You are not supposed to use cleaner with a steam mop. Just water. That's the whole point.

Have never owned a steamer mop but have one of the Bissell products with the revolving brushes that works great. I use whatever type of floor cleaner I have always used (i.e. Mr. Clean, for example) and the pads do a great job picking up the dirt go in the washer when done. Does a great job cleaning the floor and the pad are reusable/washable. I don't like any of those products that use one-time pads. Seems that is just a way to lock you into keep buying their refills and spending more $$$ with them.
