Do you dry your clothes outside in the summer heat? Or do you prefer to just get it over with and throw it in the dryer?

I never use a clothes line. I always dry clothes in the dryer.(Even in the summer heat!) :)

We hang everyone's clothes outside in the summer except mine. My allergies are so bad that there is a substantial difference in my breathing if we hang my stuff outside. Obviously shorts and stuff can go out, but sheets and shirts have to stay inside. We do have clothes racks in the house that we use year round, and all towels, plus my sheets and some of my sleep shirts (and other people's too) get dried in the dryer

Year round dryer user, here. Don't want pollen, bird droppings, or any other nature kind of things clinging to my clean clothes. :p

I prefer the dryer, but it's a moot point since we're not even allowed to have clotheslines here.

They're forbidden by the HOA.

I hang clothes out in summer. I just love the smell of line-dried clothing and esp sheets! Other advantages are that it saves $$ in two ways- the dryer doesn't heat up the house, so the a/c works less and obviously, I don't pay to run the dryer (gas and elec.)
I also tend to get the laundry done quicker. I don't want to leave clothes on the line so as I take the clothes down I fold them right there and put them in a basket. With the dryer I often take them out of the dryer and just lay the clothes flat without folding. Then I put off the folding and the pile just grows. It's weird, I know.

I do bath towels in the dryer year-round for the fluffy softness the dryer brings.

We always use the dryer. We dont use it during the day though. Only in the early morning hours before I go to work, Or late at night near bed time. The only time I line dry anything is when I am camping.

not allowed in my neighborhood either

I love my clothes line. I don't use it a whole lot in summer, but there is nothing like the smell of sheets and towels dried during a New England spring and fall! Also sweatshirts, jackets, sweaters, etc. If they could just bottle that smell...ahhhh. I even put my pillows out if there is a nice cool breeze...who needs febreeze! :)

No, our home is deed restricted that we cannot have a clothes line (to keep the integrity of the homes as well as the real estate value).

I like using the dryer.

I hate hanging clothes outside..bird droppings, bugs, pollen...BLECH...they just are not clean when you take them back inside...I only use the dryer.

YUCK. Clothes on the line are stiff & full of pollen.

As soon as the weather warms up my clothes get hung outside. I hate the dryer, dopn't even use it all that much in the winter months, I have clothes lines in my basement and hang everything up down there. If I use the dryer it is just for the wrinkle release setting or for a little fluff. I do throw towels, socks, undies and my DH's clothes in the dryer though, he doesn't like the things line dried.

I have to say that in over 20 years of hanging clothes outside I have never had any bird droppings land on my clothes, no bugs either.

Not unless I want clothes full of bugs.

I love to hang my clothes outside. I never had bird droppings either and how do you see pollen? I don't have allergies so maybe that is it. Love the smell of sheets outside too. Haven't had a problem with bugs either :confused3

We never use a clothes line. We probably should but we don't.
