Do you unpack or live out of a suitcase?

I have never used the drawers in a hotel room at WDW. When I pack at home I put entire outfits together, including undies, socks, etc, and then lay them in the suitcase in the order I'll wear them. Swim gear and odd peices are put into the zipper section. And I just set my vanity case in the bathroom next to the sink. When I take my DGDs, I go a step further and pack their outfits in large plastic bags and mark the outside with the days they are to wear them.

It used to matter on how long we stay. But last time we only stayed for 4 days I still unpacked. My suitcase is big enough that both boys and myself use the one case. So 3 different people trying to live out of one case is a disaster. I would rather be able to put the case up out of our way too. But good idea with the putting the outfits all together and putting them in different ziplocks.

FYI: I did find unpacking at the FW cabins to be a bit difficult cause they only have a few drawers and limited space.
The best place to unpack? VWL! They give you all sorts of drawers and closet space. I could rent out that closet space as an efficency. It is huge. I used to store my double (side by side) stroller in there and not have to close it up and still have room to walk around!
Sorry, got off topic a bit!

We always unpack. It is actually the first thing I usually do. At the Polynesian, we all know which drawer is ours. I guess we'll have to come up with a new system after the remodeling is finished.:p

We always unpack. Usually, we hang up most of our shirts, pants, etc. and store our shorts, socks, and underwear in the drawers.

I think we would feel like we weren't on vacation without unpacking. :p

Unpack! It's much more relaxing that way. Plus DH and I do NOT travel light, and it's a pain to keep digging all our toiletries out of the suitcase.:) Before I met DH, I never unpacked--then I learned from him how much more relaxing it is to have everything out of the suitcase--more like home.

I always unpack. I never know what I'm going to wear and sometimes the weather dictates what I wear.

We always unpack. For the kids, especially, it is a sign of "ownership" of the space!

When I'm only staying somewhere for 2 or fewer nights, I don't umpack. More than that, I unpack. When I stay someplace before checking into a resort using points, I don't unpack. I have usually packed using those big plastic ziploc bags with outfits for two days in them.

Ditto. We're also fans of putting outfits together prior to leaving. We usually stay at least a week and I think I'd be insane at the end of the week if we attempted to live out of our suitcases!

Some of each, and it depends how we packed and how long we are staying. We ALWAYS hang whatever we can hang. Shoes go on the floor of the closet (with four people I can't stand to have them kicking around the room). Toiletries kits go on the bathroom counter.

If we packed shared bags: we unpack into the dresser drawers (the drawers must pass the sniff test...I don't want our clean clothes to smell like the last occupant's dirty laundry!) I bring large garbage bags to line the drawers and use the bags at the end of the trip to pack the laundry.

If we each have our own small suitcase, things like underwear, socks, swimsuits, pjs stay in them...unless we are spending a full week somewhere....

I'm a notorious resort-hopper, so I never unpack. I know myself well enough to know I'd probably forget a ton of things if I put them in drawers!

Depends on LoS & who I'm traveling with. Family, we usually unpack - Friends, we live out of the suitcase

We always unpack and in the corner next to the vanity we put our suitcase there with the lid open and we throw our dirty clothes in there. This way when the vacation is over the dirty clothes are already packed.

I'm with Cinderkelli. I immediately unpack. I let DH take my DD to the pool, so they are out of my hair, much faster that way. Our empty suitcase is then the laundry basket.

Un-pack. You have a more settled in feeling during your stay. It only takes about 15 minutes, time well spent IMO.

I used to live out of the suitcase but I recently found that, with a child, it's a million times easier to unpack.
