Do you travel with extra Magic Bands?

Packed them and USED them for same day fast passes! We had our 60 day out and same day passes. There is a whole thread on how to do this successfully!

Yes! We have had kids lose them, so nice to have a back-up, we switch colors, and also like to have 2 in case we are splitting up our party and we are using someone else's FP. (Say someone is beat and heads back to the room-- they can get into the room, but I can use their fast pass with the other band.)

We have always made a habit of having an extra set on us just in case. Probably not really needed but for me it's more of a comfort thing! Plus they're too cute to leave at home

YUP.
- If we lose one, I don't want to have to buy a new one. DS once lost and they were nice enough to replace at hotel but gave him gray .. not happy.
- We have also experienced a couple trips where one was glitchy, so we switched to another with no problems.
- I drive so I actually like to leave one hanging in the car so I don't have to take off one I am wearing ..
.. since most gate scanners are left from hard tickets and not positioned great for the MB yet.
- I like to switch off for different parks or parties etc

We do! They've come in handy many times. A couple times our kids MB's wouldn't work on the door so instead of going to the front desk if they ever needed access to the door I gave them an extra of mine. I've also lost mine once before and had a backup. Daughter couldn't find hers one morning so she used her back up. It never hurts to have the extras. It's only helped.

Yes and no. I bring only one active MB plus a set of same day fast pass MBs

When I was traveling here (feb 2016 was the last trip before I moved), I tend to bring new ones + 1 I like to use. I've actually needed to swap bands while there because of batteries on older bands (not that old though so I was surprised). It's not uncommon to end up coming home with more than we started with. stay away from buying ones you find interesting, you will always find another one you want to add to the collection.

Now that I live here, it's not uncommon to use 1 band and have another in my bag. sometimes it's just the one in the bag for ride photo reason though.

I put one in the backpack I carry on and the other in checked luggage, just in case either gets lost.

But those had to have been bands from a different Mde account to work like that, yes? It's not exactly the same as just bringing extra bands.

Not necessary but we take all of ours so we can match our outfits each day. We have about 14 total between the two of us.

We had two each in November because of our split stay and quickly learned it was a good idea to pack the extras along with us, because three of the four of us lost or almost lost one during our visit...I had no problem with mine, but the kids had theirs catch on something, I believe, and come off...I was glad that I hadn't declined the second set!

There is absolutely no need to bring extra. But I did anyway. I guess I am a belt and suspenders type of guy.

My main one is quite old. It was the first I ever got, and the last 4 digits are 0103 which happens to be my birthday. I do bring an extra just in case my original ever fails.

I have begun to decline new ones. I am so happy they installed that option!

This was our first trip with an existing set. The new ones were waiting for us at the hotel.

First day at MK I lost my new MB. I took the old one (which was active) but visited guest relations and they replaced it. Same color.

So, I don't think it is necessary. But they don'the take much space so it won't hurt.

Guess I'm in the minority, again, cause I don't bring the old magic bands with me. First of all, don't know if I can even find them (might be in file 13)? Second, I didn't know you should save them and use them again? So, we do just fine with the new ones they always send us. No problems...

If you lose your band you only need to go to your hotels front desk and they will replace the band at no cost to you. Happened to me this year. No fuss, no fee.

I only have an extra one when we stay for a few days. I like to interchange them. But it's not necessary to carry an additional one with you at all times.
