Do you "tip" the UPS guy around the Holidays?

I always thought tips were for people who don't make minimum wage or do something personal, like hair, nails, a massage. I have never felt the need to tip UPS, mail carriers, sanitation workers (who can't even empty the can), or the paper carrier.

I tip my sanitation workers because they will walk my pails up to the fence and they take as much as I put out...the "limit" is 4 cans but if I put out 10 they will take them...
As far as paper carriers...I was one..I made pennies on each house unless they gave me a tip...

I don't know who my UPS guy is because he does the ring & run thing.

I don't think it's necessary to tip UPS drivers, because they are paid well and get overtime during the holidays. BUT, if mine waited around, or helped bring some heavy packages inside, I might tip, though, just because it's the holidays and it's nice to give/get gifts.

I don't tip UPS...although if I knew the driver well, I probably would...especially if the driver did things like bring heavy packages into the house. I do tip my mail carrier at Christmas (I think they are only allowed to accept gifts up to $20, so that is what I give him), my newspaper deliverer (I don't regularly because it is a drive-by delivery, not someone who actually hands me the paper each day, and half the time, the drive-by either wakes me up with the loud car or throws the paper on the other side of the fence where I can't find it...maybe because I don't tip regularly...) and my milkman.

Yes, I tip my UPS man. He is so very friendly and calls us by name. I see him driving around our town all year round, always running to make his delivery. I buy many things online during the Christmas season, and he always is the one to deliver my packages, daytime and evening. He is a real worker bee, something I can relate to and have admiration for. :)

I tip both UPS and USPS. The mailman goes out of his way sometimes to drive packages down to the house, and the UPS guy is really nice too. I don't see the Fedex guy much but I'll have an envelope for him in case he is making a delivery during the holidays. $10 to UPS and Fedex, $20 to mailman. I wouldn't mind tipping the trash collectors, but I don't know how. They come when I am at work, and I can't attach an envelope to the trash can- it would be stolen....or trashed.

edited to add, I mean I tip around the holidays, not every time they come all year.

No way! The UPS guy is at my door every day during the holiday season. I do give him a big tray of home made chocolate chip cookies though. He loves those!

if you want to give him something, bake him some cookies or a pie.

Yes I do tip the UPS man at this time of the year!

What does he get? puckerup:

We dont know our mail man or UPS. We live in a condo and have a PO box.
