Do you tip mousekeeping daily, or just once at the end of the stay?

Definitely daily....you may have a housekeeper change during your stay.

I had never conceived of tipping housekeeping until I read about it on this board. So last week while at the WL I decided to tip $2/day (it was just my wife and I). I did this the first 2 days but then stopped after my in-laws who were staying in the adjacent room got the towel animals each day and they left no tips. We didn't even get our trash emptied! We (and they) had the same maid each day of the week. The in-laws continued to get more and more exotic animals throughout the week without leaving tips. On the last day I did find another maid and tipped her to come into our room after our regular maid and make some animals. It "maid" my wife's day, but I will never again tip unless there is something unusual that happens that would compel me to do so.

We have tipped housekeeping, even before we started going to WDW.
It's just the two of us, so I tip $2 a day.
However, if I rec'd bad service or an uncleaned room, I would not. But I don't recall this happening anywhere. :)

I used to give a large tip at end, but found better service when we tipped daily or every couple of days! I guess we go over too much cause last year at the gf we were changing building for a better view and housekeeper said your leaving? and didn't want us to leave. The new housekeeper came right over to our new room introducing herself and said the other lady told her to take good care of us! They were really great! We usually get a few extra towels, or they notice us taking the soaps etc.. they give extra's, also there is always a little more attention to your room. My favorite resort the contempary tower is the only resort that there is very little interaction with housekeeping, they keep a very low profile, only once we had a large mickey balloon in the room with a thank you note the night before we left. I like to keep things nice and there is only myself and sister so we are not a lot of work. ;)

We used to tip just weekly, until I started reading these boards and agreed it made more sense to tip daily. Even when we just did weekly, we got towel animals and extra soaps and shampoos daily. We've always had good mousekeeping!

I switched to daily a few years ago when they seemed to change mousekeepers often. Now they seem to have gone back to the same one assigned to your room except for days off, but I still tip daily.

I did a stint in college as an Ebassy Suites housekeeper (parents made me do it)!

You should definitly tip daily. I always picked up extra rooms at the end of the day because someone would call in sick or leave early. The money was great for each extra room we cleaned but some of the tips were even better.

We used to get retired folks traveling to Canada from Georgia and Florida. The old ladies were wonderful to me and I to them. It is great to know that someone appreciates the "dirty" job you have to do.

Cleaning those rooms actually made me we want to finish college and go to class more often!LOL:D

Definitely Daily! You may have different mousekkeepers during your stay, depending on their schedules of days off. It wouldn't be fair to have the same mousekeeper the 1st 4 days of your stay, not tip, and then leave the lump sum the 5th day, and it is her day off, and the new mousekeeper gets the whole thing.

WOW! Tipping housekeping daily makes a lot more scense to me now. Not just at Disney but anywhere.
Thanks!!

I tip daily. Last year @ASMo the housekeeper was still in the room when we came in and left the tip. I picked it up and tried to give it to her and she insisted that I didn't have to tip her. It took some convincing to get her to take it because I really wanted her to have it. I enjoy tipping the housekeepers---kind of like a good deed.
