Do you tip for maintenance?

I have never tipped maintenance. I guess I just think they are fixing things that should be working, and that is not my fault. Wanting extra blankets as my travel mates (my sister and her whole family) like the rooms set to arctic freeze, well that is on me.

Tipping maintenance for fixing a problem with a hotel room im paying for seems ludicrous to me. I feel if anything the hotel should give me money/partial refund for the inconvenience of whatever issue im having to deal with. Like why would anyone tip them to fix something broken that the hotel should have had fixed before I checked in?

Yeah, not tipping maintenance. I always tip housekeeping as they’re cleaning up after ME! Maintenance is fixing a problem that should’ve been addressed before I occupied the room.

I will say that on one DCL we had to call for a toilet that wouldn’t flush. When we returned from our excursion, we had all sorts of treats left in our room from “management”, apologizing for the inconvenience of a nonflushing toilet!
