I got to thinking this morning while looking at all of the things I am going to do for my kids for DW (t-shirts, gift baskets, passports, autograph books, mint and candy wrappers, etc.). Do you think it's possible to have too much magic? I don't won't to overwhelm them. Disney World is so overwhelming in itself and I try to be cautious on not giving them too much as to not spoil them. (Note: I try..)

I say no, you can't have too much magic. I have planned shirts, Welcome baskets, candy bars, mints, invites, mousekeeping and tip envelopes, journals and passports. I think these things will just add to the fun for my family. I have planned alot of the things not only for my kids, but also for my parents who are going with us. I can't wait to see everyone faces when I start pulling out my surprises. Seeing their faces will make me know all my hard work was worth it.:goodvibes

I understand the question. Be careful that you don't overwhelm yourself and make the planning too stressful. Be careful that you don't plan to the point of not being able to just live in the moment. If these things are taken care of, I think you will have just the right amount of magic.

I see alot of people making welcome baskets. How does one pull this off or is it not a surprise?

This is the idea that plaques me today LOL!.

I used Memories By Betsy. I told her how much I wanted to spend and some ideas of things for the basket. She shopped and sent me a picture of the finished baskets. She was wonderful to work with. They will be delivered the day we arrive.

I see what you are saying-I know I have become addicted to this board:surfweb: ...I check it all the time and I am always finding new wonderful ideas for adding magic to our upcoming trip. I have started making and downloading disigns for t-shirts, notes to mail to my kids, invitations, tip envelopes, candy bar and "nugget" wrappers, autograph books and journals. I did not have any of these things other than autograph books for our last trip and it was still very special and magical. However, I am so excited about all these things that I want to add to our trip this year, too. I guess as long as you plan ahead-you should be fine. I really think my kids will be thrilled with the extra surprises I have found on this board...I just know that I've reached my limit for what I can really get done and do well.

I used memoriesbybetsy last year also. Ds did loved the basket. This year I will be doing everything myself. The money that I would have spent for ordering a basket will now pay to ship the one I am making for him.

I have baskets for my goddaughters also. What their mom and I plan on doing is giving them what the need for the drive down in a personalized backpack. That will have in it crayons, pencil , notepad, fun book made from off the boards and candy bars. The basket for their arrival will have Welcome to dis letter made from Natalie, t-shirts 7 for 7 days, passport, autograph book with the cover made by Michelle, journal candy bars and water bottles. All these things were made by the designers on the boards and I think the girls will love them even more. Everything in the baskets are things their parents would have to buy when they got there anyway.
