Do you think WL changes will impact discounts??

So I was really hoping for a deluxe RO discount for January. Now, I see all of the people who were booked at WL for Nov/Dec/Jan are getting changed to other deluxe resorts to compensate for booking at a hotel that wound up being under construction.

Just thinking that if the other deluxes are absorbing the guests from WL it might play a part in the availability of discounts. Guess there is no way of knowing for a few months, but just was interested to hear if anyone thinks this could be true?
