I've got abit of a sore throat and bad chest. Not a full blown cold or anything, just sore throat....do you think they'll cancel my operation on Monday? I will be so gutted if they do. :(

It's possible. I was due for an op a few years ago and during admission I told the consultant I was a little bit sniffly so he contacted the anaesthetist who came and took my temperature. It was slightly raised and she said she preferred not to go ahead so it was cancelled... It was a long procedure tho' so maybe that had something to do with it...

They may Emily I am afaid - you will be looked at and they will decide on the day. You can understand they dont want to take any added risks but I can understand you will be gutted :guilty:

Good luck

Im sat here quietly not sayin a word, drinking a cup of tea hoping its just a tickly throat. To say i would be gutted if it was cancelled is an understatement, last op i had i was full of hayfever and felt alot worse than now so hopefully it will be ok.

The anaesthetist will be concerened with anything that may compromise your breathing. I would imagine because you say you have a bad chest they may go ahead and re-schedule your op. Here's lots of PD pixiedust: pixiedust: to help you get over those nasty bugs and hopefully you will be feeling much better by Mon. :goodvibes

I hope your feeling ok and you can have you op! Lets us know how you get.

I hope the OP goes ahead on Monday Emilypixiedust:

and hopefull you will be feeling alot better on Monday

Must say my throat is easing up abit now...just hope it doesn't turn into a cold. Thanks for all the good wishes.
