Do you think they will keep Dumbo after summer is over?

We just got back from Disneyland a couple days ago and I am SO SAD that I never made it to see the new fireworks show from the viewing point at the front of the castle! So I never saw but a half-second of Dumbo flying between trees as we were walking... I have been watching YouTube videos and am heavily lamenting my loss! :sad:We won't be back til possibly December (we'll be in WDW in Sept)... any thoughts on if Dumbo might be back, or have an "extended" run??

Please let there be hope!

I had read somewhere that this was only going to be a summer event, but I can not find the article. I will keep looking.

They've only announced that the Magical fireworks show will be presented through Sept 7th. HOwever, I can't imagine that they won't feature Dumbo in future shows.

I was just there Thursday Friday and Saturday nights, Thursday I saw Dumbo fly and it was wonderful.

Friday they stopped the fireworks show halfway through because the winds picked up, and Friday they had the show, but neither Tinker Bell nor Dumbo made an appearance.

We were there Friday when the show was stopped! I really hope they keep Dumbo so we get a chance to see it in September!

I sure hope Dumbo will be there next summer. We'll be there in June and I just have to see him fly. He is absolutely adorable!!! :thumbsup2

For anyone reading this who is planning a DL visit, it has been said many many many times here:

Do not leave fireworks to the last night. They can be canceled due to wind - even if you don't think it's windy out. It's wind at higher levels that matter. Plus, if seeing Dumbo (or Tink) is important to you, they can get canceled even if the show is a go. Do not leave fireworks to the last night if it's something you REALLY want to see.

Remember...Dreams Comes True returns September 11th. There will be no Dumbo in Remember.

Really!? Well then I am happy there will be fireworks at all. We want to go to the D23 convention but I would also love to see the fireworks. Too bad Dumbo is not in them but I love Remember- so good.

The fireworks were cancelled all three nights we were there on one trip for us. It's hard for a zealous planner like me, but try not to count on anything. Winds pick up, rides break down, stuff happens.

Well, I sure hope Dumbo shows up again in some aspect. I can't imagine they would go to all the expense and imagineering to create such an effect and then never use it again! Especially when its proving to be so popular. Maybe they could incorporate it into "Remember" somehow...though I am still thinking maybe they will extend "Magical" through the rest of the year... or at least, bring it back next summer.

There is not much expense here. It's a pretty basic, cheap puppet, and on many nights, like last night, it does not work.

Magical has received poor reviews from guests, so its extension is extremely unlikely.

I would think they would bring the whole shebang back during the summer period to help increase tick sales.

I wouldnt worry West coast friends. Tink is very popular in WDW and I assume that Dumbo was started as your version of Tink. Alot of things that are "temporary" are test runs to see if they will work long term. Unless Dumbo had problems he is probably there to stay. Tink was great hopefully I get out to California to see Dumbo! Sounds way qute :yay:

We were there THursday night and LOVED the show. We saw it once from our room and once from the Fantasmic viewing location, but it was so much better in front of the castle, BUT...we never saw Dumbo. Did he not fly that night, or did we miss him? We were sitting a little to the right of the castle with a tree partially blocking, but we were able to see Tinkerbell.

We'll be there that weekend too. I am hoping Santa Ana winds don't get too crazy and there will be Fireworks Fri-Sun nights!! :cool1:

Disneyland has Tinkerbell as well. In fact, the Tinkerbell at Disneyland moves back and forth in the air, rather than just gliding down like at WDW.

Dumbo has been a problem. The slighest winds, and it can't fly.

Dumbo is definitley not going to be in Remember. I can imagine him coming back in another show, however, guest reaction to Magical has been horrendous. City Hall has been barraged with complaints after every performance. I don't think Magical will be returning.
