I am at akl in sept. and if they end up moving me this is the problem.....my parents are riding with us and they are staying at all stars next door to akl so that we dont have to drive all over and they can be right next door...now , if they want to move us to saratoga springs do you think they will give us a 2 bedroom villa so my parents can be with us if we pay the extra for the extra room...or take the money from the room at all stars and put it towards a two bedroom..?.it would be such a pain with us all riding together if we moved that far from them....

My guess would be "probably not" but it's worth a try to ask them. Would you all be able to fit in a 1 bedroom?

I say try it! they offered me a 1 bed room villa! If you explain the situation to the Guest Services CM, I'm sure they will have no problem accommodating you in some way. I would def call and ask though. IMHO the sooner the better. :thumbsup2 try calling 407/939/6244 ext 258. They will be able to answer any of your questions/concerns about AKL and related situations do to the AKL construction!

HTH!! Good Luck and Happy vacation!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

yes, we could fit but I dont want to put anyone on a sleeper sofa...they have a room paid for at all star movies but if they move us I was hoping they could take that money and put it on a two bedroom,I dont want a 2 bedroom for free just kind of join the two because when we made our resi at akl in jan I did not know about any construction AND they got a room at all star because we could just swing over and get them.I am going to ask all they can say is no...

It cant hurt to ask...especially if you are willing to pay a small upcharge.

I would give them a call and explain the situtation. Under the circumstances, I would think that they would try to work it out. It's not like they are giving you a choice about the move. Good luck, and let us know how it turned out. :)

I guess I'm not so positive on the outcome as you and other people are. The parents are not included in the forced move. It was the OP's parents choice to book a MUCH cheaper room at the All Stars v/s a room at AK. I think they *might* have a leg to stand on if the parents were in a standard room at AK and the OP was a savannah view. Plus the difference between a Studio or 1 BR and a 2BR is not a "small upcharge" or even the cost of a room at the All Stars. The rack rate is $515 for a 2BR in Value season.

BUT ... I still think it's worth a try to ask them. I just wouldn't really hold my breath or expect them to do what you what "considering the circumstances". If they do arrange for a 2BR, it will be with a heavy dose of pixie dust :wizard:. I sincerely hope things work out for you.

I would say if both of you were booked for AKL, then yes your chances of getting a 2 bedroom for the 4 of you would be very good.

However not sure they will move someone from All Stars because you are moving.

You can certainly ask.

yes, they chose all star movies...because we were at akl otherwise they wanted to go to por...like i said i do not expect them to upgrade for free...I will pay the upgrade...I just dont want them stuck over there having to ride the bus...now that i think about it why is it such a strech to hope for a upgrade when people get ugraded to club level sometimes for free and I am willing to pay? I will keep my fingers crossed and hope to get a very understanding cm on the phone....if all else fails and they just wont do it i will ask for the gf and give the car to my parents.

It's not a stretch keep your fingers crossed for pixie dust :confused3. Everyone does it. I'm just saying that your parents made certain choices which now make things less convenient for them and it's not Disney's responsibility to move them too. Even if you're willing to pay for it. Maybe you'll get a CM who can work some magic and get you together or maybe you'll have to give them your car. FWIW, the bus system at All Stars is not all that bad and you can still pick them up from there if you're going to dinner, etc.

Since you're willing to pay any difference I don't think it will be a problem. If the CM you talk to when you call can't accommodate you, I'd ask to speak with a supervisor. It can't hurt. The most they can do is say no.

Disney lists an SSR Studio for $268 this is the SSR accomadation you are likely to be offered.

A 1 bedroom is $ 370 or $102 more and many have been offered this already for the August and July moves.

A 2 bedroom is $515 or $ 266 more than a studio and $ 164 more than a 1 bedroom

ASmu looks like $116, POR $190 and AKL savana view $335 at this same time so together you are spending $116 + 335 or $451 for $64 more you could just book at SSR in a 2 bedroom (still less than your AKL + POR by $10) so offer Disney that difference and be firm if they ask you to move. Or just be proactive and move yourselves assuming they show availability for your dates (FYI I checked Sept 19th to get the prices and these resorts all showed availability for that date) that way the worrying it is over and done with.

My point is if you want to stay at AKL ask Disney now about probable relocation and keep checking re relocation don't wait so late that your options get limited. If the cloud of possible relocation is messing with the majic of your vacation then ask to be moved and stay somewhere else.

i didnt say disney should move them too, i said maybe they will be nice and do it since when they chose to stay at all star movies it was because we are next door at akl and had NO CLUE they would maybe move us to another resort...we have had these plans for a long time and they are both paid for...i would love to stay at akl....but the lady i spoke with said they are trying to get people to move to a ssr 1 bedroom or another deluxe resort...if they want to stick me at gf it would be fine too..lol i would not be able to stay there otherwise...i will just give my parents the car and call it a day....we do not like to use the buses, that is why we drive our own car...we only live 5 hours away.I do not expect anything for free I am just a little peeved that we have to go through this at all...we picked akl because we wanted to stay there...

my parents are riding with us and they are staying at all stars next door to akl so that we dont have to drive all over and they can be right next door.

You make it sound like these resorts are real close together. They are not. They will not be able to walk to AKL and you can't walk to ASSM. :confused3

I have a reservation at AKL for next January and nothing Disney can offer me will be enough (including GF) because they aren't going to bring the animals along wherever I am going and they are my entire reason for booking at AKL.

I'm just saying if you are sure you are going to be moved reaccess the options and either go at a different time at AKL or get what you prefer in different accomadations by asking in advance. Disney should have no problem moving you and your parents both to SSR and applying your existing payments if that is what you want and you are willing to pay the upcharge difference they are the ones that started the "move please" game and they should work hard to make you happy. If like me you Don't want to stay anywhere but AKL then get your reservation applied to a different time after the construction at AKL is completed or get a full refund.

I was thinking the same thing plutolovr, it is not like AKL and all-stars are sister resorts or anything, I've never even heard anyone booking All-stars because of its proximity to AKL. Also, Disney is upgrading people to SSR since they own a good deal of inventory still in that DVC. However, I don't know for sure, but I have heard that they own very little 2 bedrooms and even less if any grand villas in their inventory (they can only book ones in their inventory, not ones technically owned by DVC). Since SSR is not completely sold yet, perhaps they do have flexibility though with 2 bedrooms. I agree with others, it can't hurt to ask, but I wouldn't expect it or be upset if they couldn't make it happen. Good luck!

:confused3 what? i dont think they can walk back and forth...but akl is the closest resort to the all stars...it will be easy to just drive over and get them compared to us being on the other side of disney..and as much as i want to stay at akl we cant just change our days of vacation...dh has to put in for these days 6 months in advance so if THEY insist on us moving they will put us at another hotel at no extra charge to us as for my parents I have no issue with paying extra for them as I have stated in my op but if I cant get a 2 bedroom I will ask for gf,poly or cr....alot of other people have been moved there at no charge so I will wait as see what they have in mind. When I (and alot of other familys) made resis for akl we had no idea we would have to be moved so this is not my problem to fix it is disneys....my only ? was if i could get a extra bedroom that I could pay for so i would not have to drive all over the place.

ok ...when my parents called to get a room, one week after us all they had left were deluxe rooms...for those days so because all stars is close to akl they chose asm (they like por better but it is not as close) so they booked there because it was right down the road...as a matter of fact the person that booked them made the suggestion because it was close.

Not everyone booked in the AKL is being moved right? Just tell them you do not want to be relocated as your family is in the All Stars and it would cause you more driving around.

Hope what ever you do works out for you :)
