apologies - i had already made a post about flights going up by £100 within a week.

now they have gone from £300 to £388 then £408 -- they keep hooering at £408. some days they are even £488.

do you think they might go back down to around £300 - on virgin?

thanks,

xjx

In our experience scheduled flight costs tend to increase the closer you get to the date of departure. There may be the odd downward dip - but the overall trend is usually upwards.

Highly unlikely with any of the scheduled airlines. You should get flights with First Choice for less than £200 in February.

I agree with this EXCEPT when there are fare sales... British Airways are going to have a fare sale (rumour is on the 28th December, but it could be a day or two afterwards). And where BA go, Virgin normally follow (if you prefer to fly Virgin to BA).

So personally I would wait until this fare sale (just after Xmas).

Our flights go up in the US in mid-Feb due to some schools being off on break for President's Day. Not sure if the UK flights will reflect this or not. It falls during the 16 Feb-20 Feb period.

UK flights may well be higher during this period, due to Feb half term which is around this time .

Julianebabe, I would hang on for the sales personally. The prices you have quoted there seem pricey for Feb (unless you are stuck to half term week).

:thumbsup2 We booked our flights for Feb this year this time last year via daily mail and paid just under £800 for 3 adult prices. Keep an eye out between now and new year, I am sure they will come down
