I really don't feel like shopping tonight. Target is sold out online of the ipad airs. If I knew i'd get the ipad air with $100 gift card, i'd go. Do you think they will be sold out quick in the stores?

I'm sure the 16gb wifi will go fast since it's the base model $479. But if you're looking for a 32 gb or cellular model you might have decent luck since they are more expensive.

Remember too, this ad runs thru Saturday. There is a chance (granted slim) that it might get restocked either online or in stores.

So if you miss out tonight, be sure to check (online) Friday & Saturday. It may be restocked online or you may see a local store has what you are looking for.

Good luck!

Not sure which model you want, but the Target salesperson told me that they would not get in any of the WiFi + 4G models. (Not that he necessarily was correct, but that's what he told me.)

I like the 3G capability on my old iPad because I take it with me when I travel, and the hotels often have lousy WiFi.

If you go to target.com and search the iPads, there are several cellular versions by att & Verizon that are sold in store and online. Pick one and have it pick the store closest to you (based on zip code). Most stores in my area have the 16 & 32 gb (cellular or wifi) avail in store as of this morning.

Remember too, unlike cell phones, iPads are essentially unlocked. I just bought an att one that I plan on using on TMobile (200mb data per month for life). All I need to do is buy a $10 Tmobile SIM card

Does this mean if you get an ipad with cellular you don't have to get the $30/month data package? I'm a dunce with this stuff and I apologize, descovy, for peppering you with all these questions. I had not thought of getting cellular because of the cost I already incur with 3 smart phones.

That's right! T mobile offers 200mb/mo data for life on
Any cellular iPad new/old. Granted 200mb won't get you very far streaming music... But checking emails, using apps on the go, it's pretty decent.

By default it will shut off when you reach 200mb, but of course they'd be happy to take your money if you want more (let's say you're on vacation one month and use more than normal)

For that matter, I don't think most cell companies charge $30/mo for iPad cellular. Att is my cell phone carrier and it would cost $10/mo if I wanted to add an ipad to my plan. And I believe they even have an option where you can just pay as you need it.

Well well well!! This is certainly interesting news. I may opt for a different ipad than I'd originally planned for my second one; I'm thinking 32 gb and wifi + cellular. Now if only Target would hurry up and send me my gift card! That extra $100 would come in handy since I'm upgrading my choice. Dang you, Budget Board! You are seriously messing with my budget!! :rotfl:

Have you checked to see if macmall.com had the one you want in stock? I bought mine today from them and it was a wash with the target deal because I would have had to pay shipping, but it might be a decent enough deal for you to be happy not leaving home!

I did check, and I'll keep it in mind but the thing for me is that I have $250 in Target gc's plus the 5% off using my redcard for the rest so I just can't duplicate that elsewhere. Unless Target is completely out of ipads for the rest of the season, it's best for me to just wait and see if they have any other offers down the pike; even without the gc bonus it's a lot cheaper for me to do it that way.

I went at 11:15 p.m. and they were restocking the shelves with the iPad Air. I was able to get the 32 gb for DH, but they also had the 16 gb as well as the mini ipads. I received my $100 gift card, proceeded to shop more, spent $78 of the gift card and received the 20% off coupon (to use week of Dec. 1st) since I made those purchases at 12:05 a.m. By far the easiest Black Friday shopping experience I've ever had.

I did almost exactly the same thing! I actually drove over around 8PM, but there was a line of people reaching all the way around the building. I just drove right back home, then around 11:20 I headed back. I walked straight in the door, back to electronics and asked for an ipad Air. They rang it up right then and handed me the ipad and the gift card...less than 10 minutes total, and that included me asking questions about the 20% off coupon and my online gift card that has yet to arrive (and which I was hoping to use tonight to buy this ipad). Wandered around looking at things and bought a couple of gift cards at 12:01 for the 20% off coupon. The cashier kept telling me, "You picked the perfect time to come in!" I have to admit that they only had 2 of the ipads left that I wanted, and I bought one of them, so it was maybe a close shave on that one.
