Do you think (or when will) Marriot DTD run that $20.07 special again?

I keep reading about this $20 special. I plan to take two trips to Disney Next year. The first trip (April 04) is already planned at Celebration, but I wanted to get one at Marriott DTD for my family (30+ people) during August 2004 (I finally got them to get out the Vegas box so I'm looking forward to this one).

I do understand that you had to prepay. If anyone has info on this price or any other hotel near disney (that is really nice) at this price please post it!

I can't think of any hotels that have the $20 rate that wouldn't also have roaches running around.

As for if or when they'll run it again, keep your eyes peeled. They ran it a year ago September, and again this year. It seems the courtyard is always running a good special.

Keep watching this and the Disney resorts board as people usually post if these types of rates are available.

When we stayed at the Courtyard in September, on the day I checked out, I asked if they would have that rate in February since my sister, sister-in-law and I are planning a girls only trip in February. I was told they wouldn't have the rate in February but they should have the $20 rate during the same time next year (certain dates in August, September, October and December), as that is their slow season and they try to promote their hotel at that time. For $20.03 our rooms were clean and we were quite happy with the hotel.

If you know exactly what you're doing, and don't mind taking a slight "gamble", there is a Hotwire rate of $36 for this location currently. Not as good as $20.03, but still excellent. We just returned from a one-night stay here this week at this rate.

The chance you take, of course, is that no specific hotel can ever be guaranteed through Hotwire - like Priceline, you take what you get with no changes or refunds. Even with the best research, you could easily end up with a different hotel, even outside of Hotel Plaza.

I should note that I was most impressed with this Courtyard. It was very nice; probably a cut above the Best Western (still undergoing renovation, by the way) across the street that I stayed in last June.

Did you ask when do they open reservations at that rate. I plan to be in orlando during August so that sounds perfect. I know I need to keep watching the boards but when do they "nornally" open up this rate?

I have booked this rate twice, once in 2002, and this year again at $20.03. The rate was posted in May on the DIS boards, and we were definitely among the first to know of it. You need to call the hotel directly to get the rate, and as you know it is pre-paid. When we checked in, we were told that the hotel sets aside 70 rooms at the rate for Sunday to Thursday; Friday and Saturday cost more, but some Diser's were able to get AAA rates of around $69 I believe. We were also told we couldn't have a DTD view, or a king bed, but I read posts from several people who did.

We love this rate, and the convenience to DTD, and probably will book there again to celebrate end of the summer, and our wedding anniversary (a little early, but we're both back teaching in high school, and counseling at college on the real date).
