Do you think Oct will be more crowded than normal?

It seems this has been a big year for disney trips...I was wondering if you think Oct is going to be more crowded than in the past years? We chose Oct for the weather and that its not as crowded....just wondering....I'm going either way

I'm going either way too! I've never been in October, but since we've always gone in June, we're used to the crowds I'm still hoping for lighter crowds and nice weather...pixie dust!

Here's my opinion....I was worried about the same thing, that it would be much busier, and it may be busier than normal in Oct. However, when I called to book my ADRs, I got restaurants that I have never been able to get because they are always booked. And not only did I get them, but was able to tell them the time I wanted, and they had at least an hour window of time around what I wanted that was available. I was able to hand pick my time, and I have a full trip with the EXACT ADR and time that I wanted.....I have NEVER pulled that off. So....I'm taking that as a positive sign.

I too picked Oct because of the "low" crowd history everyone always talks about. I have to agree that it seems like it's gonna be crowded, and that is just from reading about everyone from the DIS who is going. Can you imagine how many more non-DIS people are going too?! I am sure that our trips will be magical no matter what though.

I think the first half of October might have increased crowds because of free dining. People who check in by Oct. 4 have free dining for length of stay, so that potentially goes into mid-month. Also Columbus Day will be a holiday for some and some schools have October breaks. It seems that this year has had higher crowds in general, but we haven't been often enough to know what "average" crowds look like.

Not at all.

That's why Disney is renewing the free dining - bookings are WAY down in the fall.

I don't expect, but I wouldn't be surprised, if they do a new free dining offer for the rest of the month.

We booked for October as well. We have saved for over a year! WHEW
Will be a late honeymoon..but I am sure well worth the wait. The only reason we picked October is because of the weather.
Darn the crowds..LOL We are going to have a great magical time. I can't wait!
By the way..The last time I was in DisneyWorld was the first year it opened! Only the Magic Kingdom back then..(and yea I was a kid) But the memory has stuck with me!
Looking forward to making more memories!

We chose October for low crowds and the F&W Festival. And cool temps. I do think it will be more crowded than in past years but still very managable and nothing compared to craziness of the summer months. I am getting up at 4 am tomorrow to make ressies for the Odyssey Cooking School, Jiko Signature Dinner and Party of the Senses.....ummmm....have I lost control of all my senses? Anyway, we simply cannot wait for October 8th!!!

Since I'm going for a whole week this year instead of just a long anniversary weekend, WDW of course will be more crowded!! That's just the kind of luck I have. Seriously, we found the parks and resorts to be far more crowded in May than we ever remember them being. As well, many more school systems (quite a few in our area, including my own) are adopting week-long (or 2 weeks, as in my ds' case) fall breaks. Oh, well. We'll have plenty of fun anyway.
