Do you think MNSSHP is fun for toddler?

Our DS will almost be 2 on our next visit. Should we go to MNSSHP with him or leave him with at the hotel with my parents? He likes the Disney characters, but I'm not so sure he'd like all the costumes. If we do take him, can we bring him back to the hotel if he hates it? Will they let us leave and return again?
We have never done this event, and we'd like to see what it is like. Should we maybe skip it entirely and wait until our DS is a few years older? Maybe the appeal is mostly for school age kids?
Thanks so much for your input! :earsboy:

My DGS was 3 when we went last year---he LOVED it. The parade was not his favorite but he enjoyed the rides, collecting candy and dancing at the party in Tomorrowland. Plus fireworks of course. Toontown is open so he can go through the houses and country fair, etc.

Thanks! We will bring him. At the very least he enjoys Toon town, so we can always do that. I think he'd really enjoy the party too. Appreciate the info! :cool1:

My DS Erich was 2 the first time we took him and we've been going every year since...Erich will be 12 this year. He's loved it at every age! :earsboy:

We went when DD was 3 and DS was 1. They had a lot of fun on the rides and watching the parade. We left the party around 9:00, went back to the hotel and put them to bed. My parents suggested that DH and I go back to the party and they would babysit (we were all together in a 2BR villa), so we did! So yes, you can leave and return later during the party.

My son had just turned 2 when we went for MNSSHP. He had a great time. Even though he doesn't really like candy, he thought it was fun to wait in line for trick or treating with the CMs. He also thought it was fun to dress up. His favorite part was dancing at the "Monster Mash" with the characters who were all in Halloween costumes. There was hardly anyone there so he basically had all the characters to himself, they all danced around and played with him. We only stayed for a few hours though; his bedtime was 7:30 back then so the party started pretty late for him anyway. We didn't do any of the rides but just walked around with him. He seemed to enjoy the decorations. Since he went to bed so early, we were never at the parks when it got dark so I think being in the park after the sun set was half the fun for him.

We took him to MVMCP last year when he had just turned 3. He liked that better than MNSSHP. He thought the cookies and hot chocolate was neat and he seemed to enjoy the Christmas parade more than the Halloween parade. He also thought the Christmas version of Stor Time with Belle was wonderful.

With that said, I think we would probably not go back to MNSSHP but might consider MVMCP.
