Wireless networks that have computers of teachers and students connected are everywhere. One student gets the project sheet, another drops off his homework. When the teacher hands out the latest test grade, all the students update the latest grade in their spread sheet.

Does it sound like something that would happen in 2024?

No, it is happening right now.

More and more schools are outfitting their puples with laptops and portable digital assistants (PDA's, like Palms and Handsprings).

Let me clear something, if you use a laptop in school, it means that they GAVE YOU ONE TO USE!

I think that we're all relying on computers too much at the moment. Whilst computers can help out with school and everything, they can also hinder our learning, because we only learn how to do things on computers, not manually. In my computing class the other day, we were looking at statistics on schools who rely heavily on computers, and schools who don't. Suprisingly, the schools who don't put much emphasis on computers had much higher average grades than the schools who did.
