We are planning and i'm not sure if going to Blizzard Beach the first week of Jan is a good idea. We love the waterparks but realistically, will it be too cold? If we went it would be around noon.

Can anyone share their experiences w/ weather and the waterparks in Jan?

It is so hard to predict the winter weather. Your best bet is to check the weather online shortly before you leave. I've gone when it was wonderfully warm... and then the last trip we did in January was chilly! We needed jackets the whole time!

We went the last week of Jan. in 2006. It was very nice weather (we were told while we were there it was unsesonably warmer than usual.) We didn't do any of the water parks, but we did use the pool a few times. We were basically in shorts and t-shirts during the day, if that helps at all. Good luck!

We usually go in Sept/October and took a chance on Jan this year. It was miserably cold. We still had a great time, of course, just being at Disney, but we're going back in September to go when we don't have to worry about buying Mickey hats, gloves AND scarves!!

Ohhh so hard to tell. Don't count on it then if you get to it will be a nice surprise. It can be 85 one day then 60 the next so checking the weather far in advance may not help.

Previous post is funny because we visited Jan 30-Feb 6 and it was HOT. Just shows how fast the temp. can change.

We were there in january of this year and we had shorts on and there was people in the pools at pop.

We went in January of 2007 and chose the warmest day (75 degrees) to go to the waterpark. I think we would have gone even if it wasn't terrifically warm; we're Canadian and are used to the lake and some pretty cool temperatures for swimming in! DS and DN (8 and 9 at the time) absolutely loved it and we were pleasantly surprised that we loved it too.

A few years ago we went for Christmas and the New Year and we used the pools and waterparks. In saying that though we are English and used to English weather so we thought it was quite warm for Christmas!! lol

Although it wasn't January, we've visited WDW in the winter before (late December) and it was pretty cold. We're Canadian and we wore our jackets the whole time. There were a few days where the afternoons were warm enough for pants and a tshirt, but we had sweaters 99% of the time. It was definitely too cold to spend a day at one of the water parks, but we still took advantage of the resort pools. They were warmer than the air, so we ended up having the pools to ourselves and had a great time!

No matter what the weather is, you will still have a fantastic trip. We loved ours!!:cool1:

Good to know! We'll be at YC in December and would hate to waste SAB!!

I have been in January when it was warm enough, and other times where I have needed a winter jacket!

Luck of the draw, I guess!

We went the last part of January in 2007. It was pretty cold the entire time we were there. The water parks were actually closed due to "inclement weather". I think the warmest it got while we were there was high 60's - lower 70's. We still had a blast though.

We went the end of Jan 08 and it was very cold and rained a couple nights. No water parks for us. It just depends but I would say it would probably be too cold.

We are going January 3rd and are not planning on it being warm. I plan on bringing swim suits but may not use them. I am thinking this is going to be a little hard to pack for because we will need lots of layers. In 96' it was 32 degrees at night in disney when we were there....we were really unprepared.
