Do you ever think Disney would allow you to add DDP to an AP rate?

They currently let you book tickets and DDP with a AAA rate but you have to go through AAA. I wonder if they'll ever allow us to book AAA with tickets and dining without going through AAA too.

I was encouraged when they let DVC people book the DDP. So maybe AP and AAA aren't too far behind.

AAA packages can only be booked through AAA due to contractual requirements. Given the huge number of bookings that AAA makes for Disney, I would not expect to see any major changes to their contract with Disney such as one that would allow AAA members to book their packages directly through Disney. After all, AAA has an obligation to their TAs to bring business in the office doors so they can earn their commissions.

Disney is not under any contractual obligation to provide passholders with discounted room offers, let adding the dining plan to an already discounted room. Obviously, such room discounts encourage passholders to visit more frequently but in reality the purpose of an annual pass is park admission, not resort discounts. Passholders already receive potentially huge discounts on park admission - less than $2/day if they were to visit every day during the year. Of course, this is not realistic for most passholders, but it is still true. But even with only 30 days at the parks during the year, a premium annual pass works out to less than $20/day which is still a great savings. Furthermore, passholders can recognize savings on dining by purchasing the DDE card. I don't feel there is any need for Disney to extend the dining plan to passholders at this time.

I keep hoping they will. We have the DDE card, but it doesn't help at counter service restaurants and we don't always make ADRs.
