Do you talk on the phone to your spouse or siginficant other everyday while at work?

We IM during the day almost every day unless he is in meetings all day. I'm a SAHM with my kids all in school at least 1/2 a day so I have a LOT of time on my hands and since he is a computer guy he is at his all day long as well. We mostly do it telling each other we love them or what's going on with our day if something good or bad happens. I rarely call him however but IM yep!

Usually just once a day, to make sure we know who is picking DS up from after-care. Other than that, we don't call just to chat.

DH calls me everyday at work, even though most times I am with a client and cannot answer. He always leaves me a VM telling me he loves me, to have a good day, and then ends singing-he has a fantastic voice-Carousel of Progress Theme, When You Wish Upon A Star, or It's A Small World! I love it and to me it is so romantic and special! Oh yeah and we hold hands all the time too and we are both 40 something and will be married for 19 years this year!

No. DH works on an assembly line and can't talk on the phone. He does occasionally call on his break. I only call him if there is an emergency.

Otto calls me every night when he gets to the base to let me know he got there all right, and to say I love you. Sometimes he will call me in the morning to see if he should pick up anything at the store on his way home. If he has to work late, he will call in the morning to say I love you.
He also works at the church with me now in the mornings, so he pops into my office now and then for a kiss, and to say hi.

Nope, DH works nights. I'm quite busy sleeping while he is at work.

I don't call DH at work unless it is really, really important. However, when DH has a moment he usually calls and checks in with me.

And I may get flamed for this, but I don't understand people who need to talk or IM their spouse several times during the workday. Can't you wait until you get home? I have an employee who's wife calls him at least 5 times a day.

Yup- 4-5 times depending on the day.

DH owns his business- so he can't 'get in trouble' and I do a lot of work driving from place to place...or even in the office I'll call his 800#..

If I'm home I'll call and just say hi etc.

My dh calls me everyday to tell me hi and that he loves me, I am SAHM an he is a manager so when he has a few minutes each day he does this. We have been married 19 1/2 yrs.

Yep! We made a decision over 25 years ago that we would touch base with each other during the day, just to stay connected. Through various jobs, we still check in with each other. If one or the other is not available, we just leave a message.

It's jsut a little thing but the little things help with the big things in a marriage.

Well sometimes I don't have to, because we work at the same place! If I'm on break, I might call him sometimes just to tell him how my day is going. If he's in school, or I don't have my phone, I obviously won't call him. If i don't call him, I always tell him everything about my day when I get home, he always loves hearing stories about some of the annoying customers we get.

We do because we can. Why not? He is VP at his company and I am sure allowed to call anyone he wants. I am a SAHM so he calls to see how the kids and I are doing. How my day is going. If he needs to pick up anything on the way home like his dry cleaning or dinner. I call him when I have something to tell him that he might want to put on his calendar. I might call him to talk about any of our trips we have coming up. I might just call him to tell him I was thinking about him and hope his day is going well. When he gets home at night I let him spend time and talk to the kids because they miss him and have school stuff to tell him about. So if I waited to talk to him when he got home I would have a whole list to go over! Not something I think we would like to do when we finally get some time alone.

No we don't call each other unless it's something important. We gab when we get home from work. Like to talk over dinner about each others day at work.

Nope...only emergencies. We wait to have our conversations face to face. Plus I hate talking on the phone.
