As long as they fit well, I think glasses are safe for any ride at WDW--even RnR. I wear mine on Hulk over at IoA, and that is at least as intense as RnR and has the same LIM-type launch.

Not to be picky, Oh wait this is the DIS boards , The Hulk uses a tire launched system and RnRC uses a LSM system similar to the People Mover oh wait Tomorrowland Transit Authority.

My daughter once lost her glasses on a coaster (not even the kind that goes upside down!), so after that we all started wearing sports straps. You can pick them up for a dollar or two at any drug store, Walmart, big supermarkets, places like that.
We put our straps on in the morning before we go to the park and wear them all day - it probably looks dorky, but what do we care? We're on vacation!
I wear my glasses on all the rides, including RnR and Cali Screamin. I think the forward propulsion pushes them back on your face, making them even more secure. The only time i wouldn't wear them would be a water ride. If you get splashed in the face with a wall of water, they're gonna be knocked right off.
I had a loose pair on while riding EE one day. It never occured to me that they could go flying. I caught them just as they left my face. I'm sssooo lucky too because I am blind without them!! (at least my DH was with me that day!!)
But I've never had the problem before or since. I've even worn that same pair back and they are fine after being adjusted.
When DD was 9, she wore hers on RNR and they flew off. She managed to catch them in midair.....in the dark! But they were a little bent. Luckily, I'd brought a spare pair. No more glasses on RNR.
