Do you take beach towels or use hotel towels?

We will be going to the hotel pool and/or a water park almost every day and I'm wondering if we should pack our beach towels or just plan to use the hotel pool towels and rent a towel at the waterparks? We are driving so we don't have a space issue, but I'm wondering what do others do? For some reason, I can't recall what we've done in the past. :confused3

I always bring beach towels. I even bring bigger towels for my showers.

Here's what we do:

The day before we go to the water park we take clean towels from the resort pool back to our room. Then we bring those towels to BB or TL, saving ourselves the rental fee and the wait in line.

We bring the used towels back with us to the hotel pool (they come in handy in the bus or car) and deposit them in the used towels bin. Very simple!

We do the same. I like having the towel on the way back to the resort.

We like to bring beach towels... especially disney themed ones. They're bigger, more plush, and much easier to find with lack of confusion from other's using white hotel towels.

We love picking towels from disneyshopping.com. This year they have a family/disney parks themed towel that can be personalized:

If it's in the budget, we love buying beach towels in the park/on vacation as souvineers too. Especially 'celebration' specific ones.

For us, it's just easier to use the towels at the pools and rent the locker and towel at the waterparks. We never drive, so space is an issue for us. But, also, I feel more comfortable using their towels and just dropping it off before we leave.

But I do see quite a few take some from the resort pool. That's a good idea also. But we didn't want to do it because I didn't want to take wet towels back (ick). But on our last trip, we spoke to a whole family who has always taken towels from the resort pool and taken it to the waterparks, they say it's convenient and they just drop it off at the towel return at the waterparks. They don't take it back to the resort. I suppose that may work for us. I didn't know you were allowed to do that.

I personally detest sitting on a lounge chair with plastic touching me, I have to spread out a towel (not a postage stamp size towel). We drive in so of course we do not have baggage weight limits and all of that to contend with, so I pack everyone their own beach towel.

I've always just used the hotel ones, but I'm highly considering packing one of mine this trip just because I think the hotel ones are too small.

On our first water park visit we bought towels for souvenirs. Now we bring them back each time for the hotel pool or water parks. I like having the bigger towel. If I need extra besides my beach towel I use the hotel towels.

We bring one or two but primarily use the resort towels. Once less thing to wash once I get back home. Great idea from the others about bringing the resorts towels to the water parks - I will remember that.

We do buy a Disney beach towel on almost every trip as a souvenier. They're huge, excellent quality and only 20.00. :)

We bring our own beach towels but we drive so space isn't really an issue. When we flew down last year we just used the hotel towels, I much prefer my own towel though.

We always pack our own beach towels for the trip, but then when we go to BB and TL we always forget them or don't want them to take up all the space in our back pacs...Much easier to use the towels provided by the parks, especially with kids because there are so many other items you need to worry about packing.

We bring our own (we fly), but next trip we'll start using our Owner's Locker and just leave them there for the next trip. :thumbsup2

We never bring our Disney towels...I'm just worried that someone might take them. I'd love to tho. I bring our now somewhat worn out towels; we've been bringing the same ones for the last 11 years, and now they'll just stay there. :)

Dan!!!! Good to "see" you!

Yes, the kids are old, and so am I. LOL I've got a big birthday coming up; I'm getting as old and worn out as the towels.

PS FYI, my inbox is full.

That's what we did too - it's easy and the towels at the hotel pool, were the exact same ones that they were renting at the water parks.
