I've noticed in some of the neighborhoods around me, that a lot of people still have there Christmas decorations up and turned on. I take mine down on New Years day. I'm just quite surprised at the number of people who still have there decorations up. Do you still have your stuff up and turned on? When do you plan on taking them down?

I still have mine up and lights on outside. I should have turned them off last night (12 days of Christmas are over) but I like them :)

I'd leave all my decorations up until Valentines Day if DH would let me..ok not let me but quit nagging me about putting them away. I work hard to get the tree just right and my cute animated, singing/dancing stuffed things bring such joy to my DD that I don't want to put them away.

However, I think when DH gets back from skiing tomorrow I'll have him bring the boxes down from the attic and I'll get the tree down. DD is starting to fuss with it and I don't want her to break anything or hurt herself.

Must admit mine are still up but heres why. I got a late start on Christmas.
First week of December spent getting ready and dealing with a cold.
Next week I was at Disney :goodvibes
Then right after getting back I came down in intestinal virus plus was busy at work.
I didnt even get my tree up until 22nd.
Plus am still getting together with relatives and friends and such to exchange Christmas gifts. So since I'm still celebrating Christmas they are still staying up.

Mine are still up. Yesterday was the Epiphany which I always keep things up until. I worked all day today and I'll probably keep leave them alone tomorrow so I can relax with the family. On Monday, I'll start bringing them down.

Even though I'm getting tired of looking at them, it will be very boring in the house once they are down. I have two trees, the lighted garland, and an out-of-control sized village that has taken over the entertainment center. Every other time of the year, I have very little.

As far as outdoor decorations, I think there are a few reasons people have them up. Here in CT it's too cold to take them down, so why bother. Secondly, it's January and there are still 2-3 more months of hard winter - a little light is nice in the dark. :dog:

ours were down New years weekend. There will be people who have them up through February. They are nuts. Its a new year and I want a fresh start.

I just took down my outside decorations today. I took my tree and inside decorations down on New Year's Eve day and didn't have enough energy to get the outside done that day too!

Nah, I put all mine away already.

I just took mine down today. I would have liked to have them up another week but it looks like I might have too much going on next week and not be able to take care of them. So this week was it. I did get a bit of a late start this year. Normally I put them up the weekend of thanksgiving, but i was at WDW that weekend through the next. So they went up the second week of Dec instead.

the tree is coming down next weekend. I like it. It hasn't been around enough for me.

I was thinking about taking it down when the Redskins lose, but if they beat the Seahawks that means the stuff will be up another week.

We don't do outdoor decorations, but inside the tree is still up and decorated.
I have just about got all the monorail stuff torn down and put away, so the tree is next. :)

We did celebrate Christmas until new years as we were on a cruise, since then I have physically been sleeping at work, and working, I haven't been home in over 4 days, haven't unpacked from our trip or anything.

So yes, our decorations are still up, presents are still on the floor. However, nothing is on.

We took our indoor decorations down New Years Day. I don't know when I'll take the outdoor decorations down (we only have two lit wreaths and a few bows). We've had a lot of slushy snow that's turned to ice. I'll have to wait until a bit of a thaw to get the wires out from underneath the snow. I suppose I could climb the hill on the side of the house and pull the plus from the outdoor outlet....or...I could decorate the wreaths with hearts and I'm good to go until the end of February ;) .

We celebrate all of Christmas - which runs through Dec. 6th (Epiphany). I think many people do as well, which is why you see decor up. Lots of our neighbors were taking theirs down today, as are we.

Tree is being dismantled in a few minutes! =)

Mine have been down since a day or two after New Years. They would have been down on New Years day if Bogart hadn't gotten sick. I didn't burn them after NYE. Several people in my neighborhood are still burning them though. It kind of suprized me.

Inside stuff is down and mostly put away. Outside lights are still up, but not anymore. Dh needs to get out there and get them down, but it's been cold.

I usually take my stuff down 3rd weekend of January. This is the first weekend of Girl Scout cookie sales. I am one of the troop leaders, so I spent my morning getting & sorting & handing out cookies to my girls. Then helping my DD get a start on selling her cookies. :sunny:

Tomorrow will be spent doing errands & other things.

Next weekend they come down - unless we get slotted for a booth sale, then they may stay up 1 more week! :crazy2:
