Do you stay at same hotel every time?

My wife and I always stay at the CBR everytime. However, we would like to try some of the other resorts. We do miss CBR if we do not stay there.

Like I wrote earlier...it's so HARD to avoid a resort where we have ENJOYED and shared such wonderful memories together. It's the feeling of "comfort," of continuity amd familiarity. We never feel we are returning to the "same place" each year, as so much changes in the span of a dozen months...the landscape, CM's, attractions, etc. So each visit is, in itself, new and exciting!

Having experienced EVERY WDW Resort over the past 12 years (W/exception of the AKL & Value resorts), we have developed our STANDARDS and FAVORITES!

I do agree with the poster about "changing resorts" only if you are staying for more than a week. Each year we have added new resorts, and exciting itnerary changes. This past summer we added the 7-night Magic Western C.C., along with the Peabody, PBH, DVB resort, and the Dolphin. We were on property, at these locations for more than 7 weeks total. This summer is going to be the same (length of stay), and we are trying a new property (AKL) and revisiting an old favorite (CR). We are also returning to the PBH, DVB resort and the Dolphin!

There is something wonderful about returning to a WDW resort property, especially if you have children. You can't help but recall the memories of when they first went down the pool slide alone, or ran ahead of you with excitement to the bus depot, or fell asleep surrounded by a bevy of plush disney friends! I see the "shadow" of our now teen DD, when she was only "4" YO...laughing and skipping down the halls of the East Wing of the Dolphin (from beach towel to beach towel...careful not to step in the LAVA~LOL). I see her "smiling" as a "5" YO from the window/balcony of our room, or sitting on my lap awaiting the bus to the Magic kingdom. Shadows and echoes of our past await us each year we return, enrobing us in a cocoon of peaceful assurance. The photos we cherish only remind us of the "magic" and priceless memories we have yet to make together. ;)

I feel just like you. We have stayed at WL three times. Part of me wants to try something new and then another part says, but will you like it as much as WL. Don't really know when I am going again, so I don't guess it really matters right now. Have fun deciding!!

We love the Polynesian and have stayed there on all of our 4 trips. We tried the BWV and the AKL this summer. We realized that we really like the Polynesian and the AKL the same. Now whenever we go we will always stay at either one or both. If we want to do a cheaper WDW then we would still stay at the Polynesian or AKL and split with a moderate resort. I have no desire to try any other resort. I really enjoy going to the other resorts to hang out and get a bite to eat, but the AKL and the Polynesian just feel like home to us. :D

Our first two trips we stayed at the Dixie Landing and loved it. Then last summer we were planning our 10th Anniversary trip and came across some wonderful rates at the Disney Institute for a bungalow. Too good to pass up and I am so happy we didn't because our seven day stay was just amazing truly magical. This year we are doing an early Christmas with my parents and we got some amazing rates for the Wilderness Lodge...we are so excited about this trip. I think the next two places we want to stay are the AKL and the OKW.
I suggest trying something new....

At WDW we have stayed at:

Beach Club
Wilderness Lodge
Contemporary tower, twice
Polynesian
Dixie Landings
Carribean Beach
Boardwalk Villas
Old Key West
Villas at the Wilderness Lodge

We have enjoyed them all. Any Disney resort is half the fun of going to WDW. Mix them up.

I'm one of those people with the goal of staying at each of the resorts. I want to experience every nook and cranny of WDW (though impossible), and I'm a "variety is the spice of life" type of gal. Where I stay is usually determined by discounts. I won't refuse to stay at the same place if it's the only reasonably-discounted place, but I try to look for the best deal at a place where I haven't stayed.

I do love AKL, but I can always visit during the day if I feel like I've seen all I can at a smaller resort.

Go for something different. One thing for sure, if it's a Disney Resort you won't be disappointed. We have stayed at CR, Poly, GF, POR, AKL, BCV and as you can tell for the signature are DVC members at BWV. We have split stays at two resorts on two occasions. Both occasions our total time was less than a week and things went great. If you really love WL try something first for a few days then hop over to the place you love (WL) to finish off your vacation. They transfer bags (although it takes a few hours) so it's almost hastle free.
