Do you "split" your trip?

Thanks to all for your input on this. You've given me courage to try something a bit different...

I plan to (a) make my BWV ressies for 9 days at the 11 mos window.
(b) Call at 7 mos to try to add on 2 nights at HH (it will make a very nice pit stop, since we drive down from the north!)
(c) If no HH, then try 2 nights at BCV (get some SAB action!)
(d) Doubt we'll have a problem, either a or b should come through for us, since it won't be "prime time" when we go, but if it is, we will just try to add 2 days somewhere else or at very worst, we will still have 8 days @ BWV and will visit 2 extra days longer with family (also on our way down) or make a trip to Cape Canaveral area, which we have been meaning to do but never have!

Hopefully, we can tag the 2 extra days at the beginning of our 8 day stay, so that we won't have all the groceries (yet) to haul around. We'll just pack a set of "2 day" bags versus our whole pile-o-crap and work off of that!

Thanks again for the inspiration and keep your fingers crossed for option b -- I am really excited about trying HH!

We have done it in the past. It was easy to do and no hassle getting luggage transferred. Just tell bell services where to send it and enjoy the day!

That said, I am not sure that I would do it regularly. I do enough of the short trips for business and appreciate spending a week in one place.

We have split trips in the past, but we woudl start at a non-DVC resort for the first weekend, and then ,move to the DVC on the Sunday or Monday night, and usually leave the next Friday. I too couldn't stand spending as much in points for Friday and Saturday nights as I did for the rest of the week.

We just bought another contract, so hopefully point conservation won't be as much of an issue.
