Do You Sing Along....?

Do you sing or hum along with the muzak while you are on hold (telephone calls)?

Sure I do. I love to sing even though I am not very good at it. I've been caught singing in the grocery store, in line at stores, in line at Disney for rides, all over the place. I figure if you don't like my singing don't listen. I just love music and I love to sing.

Yes I do. What I find sad however, is the music that I like has now become Muzak!!! When did I grow old???!!!

there is a very funny episode of Ellen (ellen degeneres's OLD sitcom, from waaaay back in the mid-90's when she had long hair), where Ellen is on the phone & on hold, and the hold music is 'build me up buttercup.' she starts singing along, and right when she bursts into the "WHYYY DO YOU BUILD ME UP...." part the person comes back on the line.

one of the places i call to order stuff from work actually plays frog croaking nature sounds. it makes me laugh.

I said no, but I do find that when you're on hold it's quite interesting to listen. I work in the Accounting dept. for a hospital and while you're on hold for other departments (like when outside people call in) there's a woman telling you health advice. My favorite's are : "Do you smoke? Then you should quit. Do you enjoy several drinks a night? Then you should stop drinking excessively." Like it's that easy and people just listening are thinking "Hmmm..yep, I'll quit right now. That sounds good. Why didn't I think of that? I had no idea it was unhealthy!"
