I have noticed alot of people talk about shopping at Target and Walmart, I never hear of anyone talking about shopping at a Kmart.

My question is if you live near a Kmart, do shop there? If not why? :confused3

At my local Kmart it is dangerous to go to the area it's located and shop at it if you don't have, how can I say it, the right color! Yes its fact before you start blasting me. There have been multiple hate crimes against certain races in the past few months.

There is one near us. We do not shop there. It is very disorganized. We are Target shoppers.

Our K-Mart is so awful inside and out that I only go there if I see something specific in the ad that I want. I don't know why they can't spruce that place up.

I haven't been in a KMart in years. The last time I went in one, it was so dirty & disorganized, it made Walmart look like a Nordstroms. :rotfl:

I'm not a fan of Walmart either, but my nearest Target is pretty small so they don't always have what I'm looking for. But I still won't go to KMart.

We only have 2 left in the area and the last time I was there it was just nasty. Kmarts have really gone down the drain. I would much rather shop at Target or Walmart...

We live in a metro area and have a choice between K-Mart, WalMart and Target. I go to Target for some things and K-Mart for others, but not WalMart. It's not that I'm a WalMart basher...its just that the store by us is absolutely filthy! I went there last in August and it was so dirty that I called corporate headquarters on my dime and complained!

K-Mart is much cleaner and the people who work at the one nearest to my house are all really nice. It's great for the general sundries that my family uses/needs (you know...laundry detergent, OTC meds, etc.). Target is a bit more "upscale" (if that's possible with a discount store) but not "upscale" enough to compete with where I generally shop for clothing and furniture.

Just MHO.

On extremely rare occasions I pop into Kmart for something specific but generally I find them disorganized and the merchandise quality very poor. I'd rather spend a wee bit more and go to Target. I shop Walmart for convenience but I'm not wild about them. If there were a Super Target close to me I'd never go to Walmart again.

K-Mart is not clean, it's unorganized, it's not close and it just sucks.

I have a target 1 mile away, so target it is. Target is clean, organized, lots of employees to help you out, it's large. I love target, although my checkbook hates it. :)

I never would have gone back to a Kmart if I hadn't moved recently. Where I used to live you didn't go. It was dirty, disorganized, and always out of what you went there to get. When I moved I needed some things and everything else was closed, so at midnight I went to the Kmart and found everything I needed in a nice, bright, cheery place at a good price. I have gone back a few times since we moved in and enjoy it more than the walmart which is near by. ( I used to swear by target and walmart-- but now I am open to all three--- I've become a real sale paper shopper!!!)

It sounds like Kmart needs to clean up some of it's stores. :thumbsup2

Kmart is the nearest big department store to our house. I don't go there unless I'm looking for something very specific that I can't find anywhere else. Ours is just yucky.

I believe they just closed a bunch of stores a couple of years ago. I was surprised that ours wasn't closed because it's just gross and I hardly see people in there.

Not if I can help it! :rotfl2:

j/k...

actually, I like the Super K nearby better than any of the WalMart stores. It's cleaner, more organized, and nowhere near as crowded. But, since DH does most of the shopping, and he's got a thing for Wally-world, that's where he goes. But (as my tag notes) I'm a Target girl! :teeth:

I avoid KMart lke the plague actually.

Love Wallys Love Target but out Kmarts ( and most that I have been to) are filthy! THey are crowded with crap in the aisles, merchandise everywhere and the employees are rude ( at least the ones Ive had to deal with)

Ours is not too bad. I actually go there quite a bit for snacks. They usually have pretty good deals on that. I just wish they would start taking a Sears Employee Discount card, since they bought Sears. You can use your Sears credit card there, but you can't use your discount card. Bummer.

I worked at K-mart for 5 years and I agree it went downhill. In this area it is hard to ever find any employees around. While I won't say the one's around here are dirty or even in bad neighborhoods they just don't seemt o have as good a selection as Walmart or stuff as nice as Target. I do go to Kmart every once in awhile (the one I worked at closed) I usually just go to kill time.

We have one 5 miles south and one 5 miles north. The one south is an older store and is kinda dirty. Not filthy but just not bright and clean. The one north is newer and nicer. It is near the mall and is tough to get in and out of. I prefer to go to Target.

I worked at a KMart in Ohio for 9 years, it really has gone downhill in the past 10 years. Quality is gone, prices have risen-there just is not a draw to go there anymore.

Where we live now I have a KMart 3 miles away, Wal mart 4, but Target and Meijer are about 20 miles. I'll travel the extra miles for Meijer-don't care for target, and will only go to Wal mart if I have to.

Clothing and home furnishings are bought at Kohls and Macys.
