Do you remember your first Holy Grail? And do you still have it?

Come on time to put on the way back thinking caps....

Mine was the HM Dangle and I still have it. I had more fun getting that pin....

How about you what was yours?

Yes I do... and yes I still have it.

It is:
pin3237th200

I remember what it took to get it, and all of my friends that offered to help get it. I had one good pin :p ;) and used it. I think the person that traded it to me thought he was getting the short end of the stick, but guilt won out

And really since then no other grail has meant as much to me as this pin has. Now... if I could only get the other 3!!!

Debbie

There have only been two pins that I really had to get.

I still have my first Holy Grail and will treasure it forever.

It was the Silver Jail Scene and was GIVEN to me by Deb and Jack Meeker (Dizpinlver) a long long time ago. I absolutly love that pin.
My next Holy Grail is almost as important to me, but I had to trade BIG TIME for it. That was Mickey For President.
I love both these pins. Peggie

My first HG took me 3 years to get. I would dream about getting it.
It was the 1998 NFFC Rocket Rods pin. I still have it and last year finally got to meet the person with whom I traded to thank them in person. :D

I am having a hard time thinking back that far. I will have to go back and look at my collection but I remember REALLY wanting the Cinderella CM nametag. I ended up getting one off of Ebay and trading for another so I had 2 for a short while (before trading one away).

My first Holy Grail took me six months to get: The It's A Small World E-ticket pin. I still have it, because it's part of a set.

My second HG still hasn't been obtained after 4 years of trying - the WDCC Haunted Mansion Dangle pin.:(

Someday, I'll find the right combination of pins to trade for that one!:teeth:

I'm not sure I remember the order of these, but they were all right near the beginning of my pin-rapture. (Yes, we even need new terms to describe this obsession.)

I recently posted about one of my earliest:
Pin 1201: Magical Moments Cinderella
pin1201

My memory is a bit sketchy, but I am pretty sure a DISpal traded this to me. :goodvibes

I think this may have been next:
Pin 1173: Festival of The Lion King
pin1173

I believe I finally won this off eBay.:teeth:

And then probably my most (in)famous:
Pin 21: Epcot International Food and Wine Festival - 1999 (Dinner Plate)
pin21

This wonderful pin was traded to me by our fearless leader, Moderator Nat NHMickey.

All three are still in my collection. :earsgirl:

Yes and Yes to answer the questions.....and it was a nine pin Fantasia 2000 set. I still have yet to know the story behind the pin. Two stories I heard were
a. given out at the premier
b. sold at the Glendale Animation studio to CMs
The set was recently posted on pinpics and there is no way I'd give it up. It was fun showing it to Scoop because he had never seen one. It took me over a year to find it and mine is the only one I've seen.

I've never gotten my holy grail (11902) and with only eight people trading it I probably never will...so I just try not to think about it at this point!!

My original holy grail was the WD Last Day/First Day pin:

pin124

I know I have told this story a million times (ok, maybe a half a million)...I was at WDW for the Millenium NYE. It was a very difficult and emotional time for my family and this trip was a symbolic new beginning for us. I saw this pin and just had to have it..I didn't know what a holy grail was or even what pin trading was all about. It is actually one of the only pins I have bought on ebay.

After that, my holy grails have all been realized because of the friendships here on DIS...too many to mention...but I am thankful for all of them!

PS: Lisa, since my HG is pinpics 1098 also, maybe we should try to pool our resources to trade for it and then share custody. Since it was my idea, I'll take it first :teeth:

I think this was my first holy grail--a whole bunch of pins became my "holy grail" at the same time-- looking at Vince and Suzi's pin collection at my first Parkhopper meet!!!!

And yes, I still have it. I feel like I lucked into this pin, and don't know if I would be able to get it now!
pin4166

Okay Leslie, sounds like a plan.

You can have custody first, so long as I have custody during the 999 Happy Haunts Ball each year!:teeth:

My very first Holy Grail was the Mystery Banner Pin

pin2280

And like many of my other Holy Grails that came later, my holy grail angel, JamesD traded it to me.

I have it framed in a double cut out mat that has the banner pin in one cut out and the EPCOT CM map pin in the other.

My first was the Santa's Pin List Mickey. Luckily, I got him shortly after I returned home. I can't say that I have anything that is so cool or elusive at the moment to qualify as a grail. Maggie

My HG and really the pin that got me into pin collecting was the Plane Crazy pin from the Filmstrip series. It took me several years to get that pin and even then I had to resort to buying it off ebay.
That is one pin/set of pins that I will never get rid of!!

OK Lisa, you can wear it to the HHB so long as you promise to use those pin lock thingies so you don't lose it

No, I still dont have my Holy Grail..:(...its the Haunted Mansion dangle. Ive been tryin' & tryin' & tryin' to get this pin since I first saw it...!!! Everytime with no luck...!!! But, who knows, maybe one day Ill get lucky & get it...!!! (a girl can dream cant she...?!?)

Buggin'

Mine would have to be the Tokyo Disney Store Chip and Dale pin set (1683). I just had to have that set. I still have it and it's still one of my favorite pin sets.
